[1.0.3] Vaine's Blood Magic & Critical Frenzy/LA Build
I've been holding off on the respec for my BM/LA/Frenzy Ranger to let some of the better theorycrafters do some work for me (yes, I am lazy). I think I'm sold on this as a starting point.
Curious why you looped down along the bottom line in your max build. You seem to have wasted a point there. Minor fix (and picked up Blood Drinker, cause it's right there). Passive skill tree build |
|
Am I seriously math impaired or didnt you just use the exact same amount of points there at the bottom? 4 either way, only switched a dex for a strength node? Also the maxed tree really is a WIP, I'll decide when I get there. :P

Well I have the same points spent, but added Blood Drinker. Your route has one extra dex node in the lower right corner of the bottom line (I think). My route is +10 str, -10 dex, tiny benefit for Iron Grip.
Of course your route runs past Diamond Skin, which is worth considering too. As you say, WIP. :D |

Haha, I still dont get it. Fine you drop the node in the lower right corner, but you still gotta take the one by iron reflexes, and then there's the 3 nodes above the melee cluster. 4 nodes in total, same as I got. XD

Today I killed Dominus the first time with my Marauder, I choosed Merciless, bad mistake. Dominus killed me more often than I him and my Marauder is very tanky.
Now I'm worried about my Ranger and Witch, so I wanted to ask if this nice looking build from the Threadstarter is viable for "Endgame", even without godlike gear? I really have no clue how even get close to the Endboss without beeing oneshotted, scary guy, crazy fight! O.o" |

I killed Dominus on merciless on my first try with this build. Just saying. :)
TBH I think the boss on the new orchard map is way harder. :P IGN: vaiNe_ Last edited by vaiNe_#5434 on Oct 28, 2013, 4:16:25 PM

" No wonder with your gear. ;) Sadly, I don't have that good stuff. It's not bad but the bow alone is outside of my budget. I'm happy if I can kill piety on Merciless. Did id before but only in a group and forgot to take the key so I have to kill her again. Compared to Dominus, Piety is just a miniboss. XD P.S.: that's my bow, small but selfmade. :) Last edited by Fusion_Power#0294 on Oct 28, 2013, 6:35:27 PM

Really like this build, just started a new Ranger and I'm going to base off this I think. Making a few minor tweaks to passives here and there just to suit my playstyle but the fundamental path and core skills will be this style. Thanks for sharing! :]

" I want to answer these because I am also a new ranger and I hate being overlooked... also I think I have some useful insight for your questions. I thought I would hold off on Blood Magic for a long time, so I almost rushed for it (got the major HP nodes and frenzy on the way) and then stopped right by it so I could take it whenever mana started to become an issue, which for me was around 48. At this point I had 1700-2000HP and I thought I might kill myself with my 4link supported skills, but it turns out I was gaining health faster than I can spend it, don't ask me how. I suggest when you work towards it at a brisk pace (take what defenses you need if you start to feel squish), and hold off actually grabbing it until your pots cannot match your mana drain any longer. When you do finally grab BM, try to get some match some flasks that make sense. My slots 1&2 are 2% Life Leech and 100% evasion bonus, so in a pinch I press both and use the combined effect to negate/heal as much as possible. Hold on to at least one Bleed flask. Poison Arrow - Level immediately but do not use it until you get Lesser Multiple Projectiles, use Split Arrow in the interim. Gear - Look for gear ONLY with HP for main armor pieces, max damage (or situational resist) on rings, and anything on ammy (more HP/DMG). Get as much damage as possible on your bow and quiver. Using this should get you through the first 2 difficulties without much issue, that's about where I'm ending now and its still pretty breezy other than a couple boss fights (piety) and zones (battle fort) where I needed to equip lightning resist rings so as to not get 2 shot. This is my current tree at level 51. Last edited by rumsey#3996 on Oct 28, 2013, 11:01:31 PM

So can I still use this build if I don't have that Lioneyes bow you talk about in the OP?
