If you have a Kaom's in your shop not for sale, you are a dick

Ive had my 5l 800es 100life dualres regalia in a wtt thread for months now; not many offers to trade for it (and most of those are idiots offering orbs when the thread clearly states im not accepting orbs, in bold, twice), but i do still get the occasional offer (though ive yet to accept any). So this does work.

Otoh my wtt thread is labelled as such, and the item is technically available, if for a very specific "price".

And as the poster above me says, raging that people arent tailoring their posts for maximum compatibility with 3rd party sites/services is pretty pointless, since theres really nothing you can do about it in the end.
IGN: KoTao
Since we are complaining about annoying traders, I'd also like to rant about people who severely overvalue their gear.

It seems ridiculously common with 85+ characters who are obviously mapping like crazy and then stick every last item in their shop for 5 chaos+. Seriously that ring that is worse than the one I got from Solaris lvl 3 IN CRUEL is not worth 5 chaos. People can charge what they want but ultimately they have 100s of items sitting unused which encourages them to charge even more for the stuff they do sell, just because.

The price inflation on Anarchy is particularly ridiculous at the moment. I paid 1 alc/fus each for two Ungil's Gauche when I was leveling my Shadow and 1 fus and 1 chaos for two Mightflay. The same items now go for 1 chaos and 2-3 chaos respectively, even for low roll and unlinked items.

I'd also like to mention stupid buyers. Apparently if it's not unique it's not worth having. I had some guy reply in a recent thread to some (pretty pimp) boots that "why don't you just get Wondertrap" - which are of course only good for low life builds. Seriously this BiS shit is annoying. Another item, a 250 pDPS bow I had, I struggled to sell for 2 chaos. This is an endgame bow pushing Lioneye's DPS but apparently that's all people want. A 125% spell crit dagger with +cold gems, spell damage and other caster stats I can't sell, despite it being superior (IMO) to a Divinarius which seems to go for 30-40 chaos regularly in trade chat - I'm not even asking half of that.

Another thing is Rainbowstride. Thank god I found mine (perfect block too :P) because there is no way I would be able to afford the 3 ex people want for them. I actually almost bought a pair on index that were identical in stats other than the spell block, for a few chaos. Literally these boots were less than 1/30 of the price of the Rainbowstride - and as someone who has them, that spell block is not worth 3 ex. Wow, 6% chance to block a spell, big fkn whoop. The point is that guy probably still has those boots because they aren't what people want.

EDIT: It might sound like I'm ranting about the same thing from both sides (i.e. expensive rare and then complaining I can't sell stuff), but the point is that high-roll bracket items are very very hard to sell compared to an equivalent or worse unique. As a separate issue, some traders seem to think that just because it is ilvl 78 it is worth xx chaos, even if it has ilevel 25 rolls.

I sincerely hope that the next fresh league gets rid of these stupid BiS items because it fucks up the whole economy.

Rant over!

Yea, the people that do this are surely on the top 3 of scumbags in poe.
Why the fakk would you post a BIS item in a WTS thread under a "my gear not for sale" or "my gear looking to upgrade" tag? the one and only reason is epeen.
100%: these are the lowest of the very low.
What??? I don't get it.
You're all complaining about braggarts in a game whose main purpose is to brag about any sort of achievement?
Come on, get real, or in terms of this game rather, get unreal.
pls delete
the ammount of frustrated and jelly ppl in here is amazing.

Nah that's not it.

There's a time and a place, and you can even put a silly b/o to show it is not for sale, as noted above.

It's not as if it's easy to find rarer items with this trade system.

Saying "I need an upgrade on <this item>" is the best way to filter out all the shit people may try to sell you. If you post a benchmark, others know if their items are good enough to attempt the sale. But this is a WTB issue, not WTS.

Why anyone would post gear not for sale in a WTS thread is beyond me.
I actually post the gear, because I'm legitimately looking for upgrades. But then, I'm not sporting OP gear.

Definitely not an epeen thing here.

And the crazy thing? I've actually had upgrades offered to me based on what I had in the thread. I went from a helmet with no minion to a helmet with Minion, because someone wanted a chest I had in the shop, and offered me a straight up trade for the two.

So while in some instances, it's a dick move, because it's just for epeen, for some of us, it's an actual way to try and get better gear.
