POE will be coming to consoles whether you like it or not.
" Obviously their VP is going to say that regarding consoles exclusively using their competition's tech/hardware. It is only true in some respect (raw GPU power, fillrate, shader ops), which really should be expected, the whole freaking console likely uses less power than those GPUs as well as comparable or cheaper price. Obviously he doesn't mention the part where those consoles have significantly higher bandwidth and lower latency for GPU IO, due to not relying on the crippling PCI-E bus (the ps4 has as much bandwidth for this as your GPU has memory bandwidth, latency isn't even worth comparing, it's like HDD vs SSD). The worst part about the consoles is not the GPU, anyway, which would quite comfortably handle something like PoE and far far more advanced, too. I'm still not particularly impressed by the consoles and would never get either (I made the mistake of buying an xbox 360 a long time ago). But they're certainly not useless and for certain things will vastly outperform PCs, particularly if the GPU is going to be involved in more general computation. Personally, if I could upgrade my PC significantly in one aspect, it would indeed be the area of improved GPU IO since CPUs aren't improving all that much. |

" So that explains why the server side processing is so laggy and there is frequent desync. I understand that GGG started coding PoE over 5 years ago but that's a shame they started out with a game engine that can't handle the amount of code and graphics effects that PoE has in it. I only see things getting worse as more spell, special effects, etc. are added. A very big SIGH! of disappointment. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" No. No it doesn't. Desync has nothing to do with that. Until you understand desync, you're going to have trouble with it. Once you understand what causes it, you'll naturally change your play to avoid it. Assigning false causes to desync is what makes it frustrating. |
