To be honest, right now I know the build is 1) very good at using cheap gear and 2) can fullclear up to 71 maps with a wide variety of affixes. My DPS is horrible, but it's not a huge issue because I can lean on the zombies; I'm not level 80 yet at all.

That said: epic gear, YouTube videos, DPS bragging — can't really do any of that stuff... yet. I don't play that much per day, so progress is slow. I do intend, however, on including more stuff like that later.

I don't know if that means a build guide was premature, but I know I'm definitely onto something, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to start early; I could just update the OP with details over time. Was I wrong to do so?

Heh, I'm seriously considering making an ice shadow variant on this build. Not that I have the time for such things now. But of my two primary ranged characters, one is an ice ranger and the other is a summoner. Thanks for coming up with a creative way of combining them.

Do update as time passes, I am interested in hearing how this turns out.

EDIT: nevermind find it, but they sure feel squishy for such high resist and hp.

I am running a variation on this build and enjoying it. Love freezing stuff. Honestly having trouble culling because stuff dies to fast to my zombies. Yeah there are worse problems. I have a 5L bow and chest and dps is good. At level 53 now.

At the previous poster, to make the zombies live give them fast attacks, multistrtike and life leech.

Still I think there is a solution. I want to toss in a faster attacks on my ice shot and then go down the dex side of the tree for faster attacks to keep the freezing up and the cull hitting. Here is what I am thinking.

There is no way you're reliably freezing with that passive tree, did you mean chilling?

Duelist tanks also feel very squishy unless resists aren't at 75 or higher; zombies aren't immune to this phenomenon.

In my opinion, both shadow and ranger have nothing this build wants. The reason the build works is that it's extremely economical on the bow damage nodes which it takes; Catalyse and Iron Grip, and nothing else. Dedicating more to the bow portion just means one of the other three pieces — life, minions, and aura/curse — is going to suffer. This is very much a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none build, and trying to build it with too much of an emphasis on any one component works to the detriment of the whole.

If I had to pick one element to suffer, it would be the double-curse part. It is nine nodes of dedication when Enfeeble is by far the stronger curse; I've been wondering if sacrificing that in exchange for another 10% reduced reservation and 22% life (plus 40 Str, which means 8% damage) would be worthwhile.

This build looks so fun and I'm thinking of trying it in season 4 anarchy as my first character for farming up gear. It seams like it would do well for that purpose and would bring lots of utility and saftey to my 2 buddies that run with me. Do you think the build would be good for that and works as good or better than the other witch-summoner builds?

Yes, I meant constant chilling on everything, not freezing. Not enough crits to freeze anything, or damage.

You are absolutely right that if I wanted to do it 100% your way I would have no reason to start from shadow.

The shadow thing is because of the way I do iceshot. I would use Doedre's Damning for double curse, skipping the keystone; I confess that, if I ever saw your passive build, I've forgotten it by now. I don't work well with point-for-point anything.

Just off the top of my head, I would probably be carrying around 3 curses and significantly less than 7 auras, as well as bringing my spectre setup into it with Bones of Ullr.
