I would not sign that.

I died once till level 47, what I'm atm. I went low life with level 25 and bought 3 es items for 1 Chaos and got a Springleaf + Redbeak for free. With level 33 I changed to Solaris Lorica and had ~800ES. The totem had 280dps tooltip.
Level 38 --> Zealot's Oath (7% Life reg is so nice!)
Level 42 --> Dual Totems (Till there I used some times arc selfcast beside the totem)

I think with a 450ES Shield this build will also be viable with Solaris Lorica on maps. I will reply my stats and gear than.

I noticed you take a lot of cast speed in this, does cast speed from passives make the totem cast the shockwaves faster?

The only comment I could find on it is from the wiki and it's in regards to knockback distance, not cast speed (underline is my own);

"Knockback Distance: As skills cast by the totem are affected by all modifiers affecting the player, the knockback distance also gets increased by your passives."
