You can find resist status aliment at the far right of the passive tree. Need some points to go there tho.

From my own expierience drop mana leach gem and use blood magic gem. Then you can go 2 auras. It will boost your survive ratio or dps.

Followed your advice and linked Cyclone as well as Dual strike to blood magic im barely using hp from it plus im insta full because of my life reg/life on hit things im running grace and hatred now and it rocks
So to anyone starting out without any currency, i don't recommend this build.

At 70, i hit a pretty big road block. The survivability to dps ratio is pretty bad without some decent items -- decent items you probably can't afford. Obviously this build works great with some of those items, but until that point, it's pretty mediocre and scary.

I disagree entirely here. I hit 70 and it's certainly not bad at all. I have nothing overly special items and am clearing level 66-69 maps with the occasional death (mostly cause I'm still learning what to avoid...omg Museum map bosses!)

The only thing I needed was:

1. Need a 5 link breastplate. You gotta be able to improve Dual Strike or Cyclone really high. I found a 6 socket breastplate and turned it into a 5L then used an Alchemy on it into a Yellow (and a few Chaos to roll some resists + HP).

2. Need a source of avoiding damage. You got two routes here:

a. Don't take Iron Reflexes to keep your Evasion.
b. Slot your Chain with Blind to blind opponents to make them miss (which is what BOR does).

I personally went with 'b' and linked Dual Strike + Melee Splash + Melee Physical Damage + Blind + Multistrike and it's pretty fantastic. You can't give up some way to avoid damage entirely however. It's simply not going to function and you will die repeatedly.

3. Cast on Damage Taken (which I rushed at 62 in the Library after hitting 62 since I could then suicide my way through) hooked up with Enfeeble, Decoy Totem and Enduring Cry. This is clutch with Blind as you will get hit once, Decoy totem will drop, then your Blind will proc since you're attacking so fast and they will miss the Totem due to Blind.

4. Hardest part arguably is finding coveted "+% Physical Damage" and "+X-Y Physical Damage" combined together. Later on in the level 60+ variants these are 200+ damage. Took me many hours of farming but I eventually got a few and another I bought. This is where it's very expensive if you want to buy stuff cause even a mediocre weapon can cost a bit depending on how greedy they are being. If you're patient however you can get decent prices and eventually a drop (or if you find some 66+ weapons that are Superior you could always try to create your own with Alchemy Orbs).

Really this isn't bad. Probably the biggest mistake is #2 and the way people give up a source of avoidance. You have to have Blind or Evasion and the guide does a really poor job at emphasizing that. There's simply no way around it.

Just some advice reading through some comments on previous pages:

1. mana problems
- never go cyclone without mana leech (full retard). Slot a blood magic gem to your cyclone. Cyclone-blood magic-melee phys-added fire/conc effect.
- other mana problems, just drop a 5L to a 4L and 2% mana leech will suffice. In other words, if you do decent damage with dual strike+meleesplash+multi you should be able to leech mana. Just stop hitting for 1~2 second and see your mana pool go up before you start hitting again.

2. survivability problems
- the best thing about this build is the blind stat on Bringer of Rain. If you have problems surviving packs/maps that are difficult, why not consider removing 1 link gem, and put in a support blind gem? You may deal less damage, but with fast attack speed and blind on enemies, you will definitely survive better and overall deal more damage over a sustained period of time.

3. expensive gear
- bringer of rain and soul takers are expensive items. Alternative gear are a simple 5L armor or 6L armor which you can find/trade based on the amount of currency you have.
- if you cant afford soul taker, just get dual swords/axes. The dps is good and the attack speed can be better than soul takers. Slot a blood magic gem into the links and you are good to go.

4. resists
- get big resists on rings/gloves/boots. Amulet and rings, together with wurms molt, can give you big stats on intelligence. Nuff' said. Take 1 big +30 savant node if you still lack int, noob.

are you using dual strike/multistrike/melee splash?

i use that gem combination above^ on my duelist and i do experience the same problem. I posted my question some pages back but there is no answer. The only workaround solution is to keep targeting a monster and let multistrike do its auto-target thing. :) I personally put Dualstrike on right-click and Q so it is easier to press.

How reliant is this build on CoDT? Worst case scenario, is this build still viable if CoDT is nerfed to uselessness?

The splash has a huge area already more than enough to reach 360 around you however if you want a larger area you pretty much have to go Cyclone (which is another option here but I find over all much slower).

Multistrike is also huge in applying the blind and ranking up the Blind Gem is. When I first slotted Blind the only ones that would end up Blinded were bosses cause everything else died too fast. Now, I got a really high Blind Gem (like 15% chance to blind) on top of Multistrike (each hit is super fast 3 hits) which makes everything blind pretty fast. Uusualy I pop potions when first engaging (stone skin) to mitigate damage then Blind has usually proc'd and I'm good.
