Ignoring mana cost and freeing a gem slot used for mana leech for added fire is a dps net gain. Most builds took a huge hit this patch...whatya do. The build is still extremely good. With a POST PATCH soul taker, I'd hit 25k dps, and that's with jewlery mostly or all about life and resists, Aurseize gloves. a 300 dps sword, and no weapon specific passives. The build is alive and well. Hitting 50k dps, running 5+ aruas, and ignoring mana cost of skill was broken. " Of course it's possible. Run 1 aura instead of 2...have much much less dps with no Bringer of Rain... do whatever you like lol I got by just fine without Bringer of Rain till I bought mine. It's all relative. You'll hit a dps wall without it, and be lucky if you break 12k dps. But that's not stopping you from leveling up, and doing low level maps and saving up to get one. " You are completely disregarding the most important part. You can use an additional gem for damage. No amount of mana leech can sustain a full 7 link cyclone, even with the mana glitch. You will need blood magic without soul taker. With the new soul taker you can make up for the lost DPS with an additional support gem. You will have about the same damage because of the extra support gem. On top of gem you don't worry about mana or draining your life too fast. Try seeing how long you can sustain cyclone without Soul Taker... the answer is you really can't or you sacrifice lots of survivability in doing so. Granted you are not using cyclone you can make it work on mana. Cyclone users will need it 99% of the time, and the insane survivability you get with cyclone makes it a pretty attractive choice. Also a 300 pure phys DPS weapon is far more than 1-2 exalts. They are going for 6-8 right now. 1-2 exalts was the price a few months ago. And I didn't mean to be taken quiet so literally on the mana leech gem. If you used a high mana cost skill, you'd have to use Blood magic. And Bloodmagic is a survival loss. You're taking that skill cost...in life. Point is...Soul taker makes it a non issue, freeing a gem slot. And it chills, and it has cold resist... " Well it is my opinion and I think I have right to have it, it terms of damage 350 dps weapon costs around 30-40 exalts whereas 250 dps costs how much? 1 chaos? thats pretty huge if u ask me, not having the unique ability it would be another vendor unique while even if the old soul taker didnt even have the unique ability it would be still great weapon cos of the DPS...btw how I am exagerating about DPS? I think there is a reason ppl pay insane amount of currency for high DPS weapons, you act like the nerf is nothing...I agree it needed a nerf but making a 350 dps weapon to a 250 dps is just too much...maybe it will be rly better to use blood magic and get a weapon with good damage Again its my opinion but I think I am rly not the only one who feels like it. anyway what setup u have 25 K dps with? dual strike+splash? Can someone please answer my question? With the recent change to health nodes and the amount of health on this build, do we still need to get the +40 health from helping oak in Normal, or would it be more useful to get the passive point?

I said I'd hit 25k with a Soultaker. Currently I'm at 19k Dualstrike+ splash. And I was illustrating how being able to hit 25k dps with EHP jewlery and Magicfind gloves illustrates how good Soultaker still is. And I wouldn't trade survivability, sustainability and utility for a couple thousand dps. ( Soultaker vs a 350dps rare weapon) Along with SOultaker, if I got ias+ phys dmg gloves and ias + phys dmg jewlery, I'd hit 30k dps. Just how much dps do you think is necessary for any given map? And why would you prefer to use Bloodmagic, on purpose, using up a gem slot, and impacting your life sustain? Redundant conversation, I'll bow out now lol. Has anyone yet tried Cyclone + Life on Hit + Melee Damage on Full Life + WED (or Concentrated Effect)?
The Life on Hit means I'm almost continually at full life, especially in groups. The Melee Damage on Full Life might be more effective than Added Fire Damage. Also, Cast on Damage Taken seldom fires for me in groups, so I don't have my endurance charges up. Has anyone tried Cast on Melee Kill for groups instead? Cast on Damage Taken is fine for soloing. I notice i'm often short on mana when using cast on damage + duel strike. Am I supposed to keep leveling up duel strike or is there a recommended level when u stop leveling it?
