Is Carnage Heart the easiest solution to getting a decent amount of life-leech for this build? This is my current equips in Ambush and while I don't like that Carnage heart makes me lose 300 hp, I think finding a GOOD amulet with life leech and all-res + stats is close to impossible and much more expensive than the 15c I paid for the CH.

IIRC cyclone w. blood magic is actually less damage than dual strike. I like playing dual strike up to like 73 maps (except vs torture chamber boss and jungle story boss, cyclone makes those two so much easier). Running cyclone anyways is certainly viable but for end maps I don't feel right with anything less than a taker. I could experiment with 2x 300dps swords for amusement but I don't think it'd be worth my time and besides it would be less fun for me.

If you're going to run cyclone w. blood magic you need alot of life to offset the mana cost of cyclone.

Your gear looks fine for 70ish maps. I would look for at least 4% lifeleech, 30% movespeed, and more life/intelligence on gear in that order. Then you can look at WED for your belt on a rustic and attack speed.

It seems to me that cyclone+blood magic+life gain on hit+concentrated effect is more dps than dual strike+multistrike+melee physical+wed. I have not tested extensively but seems the case esp against dominus. My hp gets a bit scary when tanking his stream of lightning but still manageable with potion. :)

Another frustrating thing is that i may have reached the point where i have to go back to my iir iiq summoner to farm more currency before i can afford better gear... Or alternatively i could spend a lot of time farming dominus or maps around 69-70 levels so that i can hopefully get this blender to end game.

It is icing on the cake for the build. It helps survivability a little, but it is not essential. Get it from BoR not a separate gem if you don't have BoR yet.

Please refer to the OP's updated trees at the beginning of the thread. Two versions with 111 and 120 points respectively. Leveling up this build should be straightforward.

In addition various people have posted their individual variants which are nice. I would recommend prioritizing suitability over dps - your damage output will be heavily gear dependent anyway.

use added fire in place of WED on your dual strike. also, bringer gives melee phys. i make my 4linked bringer added fire, dual strike, melee splash, multistrike. works well.

Today i was looking for a weapon-upgrade.
Normally i tend to get the maximum physical dps i can afford.
Often i also like getting some elemental damage on top of it.

Now i was beginning to wonder:
How efficient is this little extra ele damage really with this build?

I had a look at my skilltree and my gems:

Skilltree:
+366% Physical, +0% Elemental

Dual Strike:
+54% Physical, +0% Elemental

Melee Splash:
+48% Physical, +0% Elemental

Multistrike:
+58% Physical, +0% Elemental, -36% To Both (so not taken into account)

Melee Physical Damage:
+47% Physical, +0% Elemental

Hatred:
+35% Physical As Elemental, +0% Elemental

TOTAL:
100 Physical Damage == 908 Damage
100 Elemental Damage == 100 Damage

I didn't expected the ratio to be that high,
maybe because i wasn't aware that i have nothing to boost ele damage at all!

So in the future i'll now rather buy weapons with 10 pDPS more than 100 eDPS extra.
I hope i calculated everything correct and this helps you with your weapon-choice, too.

How can you guys run BoR without blood magic? I got like 500mana, using Hatred and Grace. There is like 55 mana left, just enough for leap slam and whirling blades.
