" I checked you post history, except spamming technical support forums for help (which will not help you anyway, because GGG does not have anything with this port - so it is supported only by me as a creator and a comunnity), i found out you were NOT using mine port from beginning... To make this thing straight so I can be able to help you: What wrapper are you indeed using, your made one (according to history you set openal to native which my port already have set), or mine 3.6 as you mentioned before. Those errors are most likely caused by missing vcrun2008 and/or vcrun2010, those can be installed by winetricks, also they are caused if you are using wrapper by FKNKickass... Altrough is true my port does not have vcrun2008 and 2010 installed, it was never needed. |

" I have a 2010 MacBook Pro with a 256 MB nVidia 330M and run the game in Win 7 via bootcamp. I have the basic shadows turned on since playing without them makes me dizzy other than that everything is turned of. Textures are on high but they hardly impact performance. With a 720p res fps still drops below 30 which some would consider unplayable. I still enjoy the game very much though I think that performance could be better considering that I managed to run Skyrim with the same machine at a stable 30 fps. From what I read in your post I wonder if the Mac port actually performs better than bootcamp. Maybe I should give it a try. |

My game keeps timing out and sending me back to the login screen seemingly randomly when I try and enter areas. Sometimes I can get in but it takes a few tries.

" Don't hold your breath, it would be a miracle if performance was better under Wine than under Bootcamp. But my point was that the results with Wine were quite promising back then. My post was from September last year. Now I'm playing PoE only under Wine, don't have Bootcamp anymore. I get 20-30 fps with windowed 1380x860 (resolution thereabouts). I consider that perfectly acceptable. I know some hardcore gamers would chortle at that, but so what? |

I installed fresh, using 3.7, on my mac yesterday. Initial install went fine, got a couple errors mentioned here already, but just had to retry and it eventually let me log in to the game. Tried it again just now and game starts up in a crazy low resolution. I was able to hit Enter to log in and select characters, hoping the resolution would fix itself when I got into the game, but it just ends up looking like this:

" The situations will improve.. Stuttering/fps drops using skills and encountering rares occurs on windows as well. So the Devs will fix it... Currently, I am trying to made the port stable, but sometimes I mess around with perforamnce improving patches (3.7 have them, so framerate should be a little bit better). Also, I need to have stable port on the latest wine, because wine is now working on mac driver, which will eliminate a lot of glitches and crashes, and should inherit some features from OSX. |
