[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update
Thank you so much for the help, it works great! Thou I have a question. I told my friend about this and he also wants to play this. The problem is that he has a older mac and therefor only has OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and I wonder if anyone has tried playing this game with Snow Leopard and how did it work?

" System requirements are listed on the first page of this thread. Besides, the game is free to play, so your friend can try it out :) |

I have zero computing intelligence. I can download stuff and play stuff. That's about it. Have a 2012 Macbook Air. Would like to play. Found the Mac Port thread. Downloaded the 3.1 version. Opened the download. Double clicked the Path of Exile icon thingy. Error message popped up saying something about can't open because it is a text only file (or something like that). Now when I double click on the icon, nothing happens. Moral of the story: can someone direct me to the proper place to be able to play PoE on my Macbook Air?
Thanks! Last edited by Wooters#7744 on Jan 28, 2013, 12:45:53 PM

" It's all in the first post of this thread :) Download the wrapper, mount disk image, copy PoE.app from disk to Applications folder (aka installing apps), double click PoE.app in Applications folder to start downloading game content. I would suggest though that you try v3.6 wrapper first, it should offer better peformance. Or stick with 3.1 if 3.6 does not work properly. |

" The game is free for pc bur since the game isn't out for mac this is his only option, but as previously said he only has a mac with OS X 10.6.8 and therefor I wonder if someone has tried to play it with OS X 10.6.8 and if it was playable? |

" OK here comes the dumb post. I downloaded version 3.6. Now I need step by step instructions because when I tried to run it it didn't work. Can you give me a play-by-play on the steps. For example, what the hell does "mount" mean? Told you I'm computer illiterate. To copy the PoE.app, literally right click- copy, then go into applications folder and paste? Be gentle. lol |

you just open the applications folder that you can find in the "finder" the little icon in the left corner and then you drag(click, hold and only release the clikc if you are in the right place) the icon of PoE to that folder and accept to copy, this might need you to fill name and password.
if this is copied (might take some time) you want to double click it and it should be working ;D The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.

Thank you so much for this. Very nice package that helps open the game up to so many who normally wouldn't be able to enjoy PoE (I'm on a very tight budget and unable to purchase win7 for bootcamp at the moment.... along with other needs that have to be put on hold... cough cough, stash space/give support to game devs). Some of the things like the on screen text glitch are annoying at first, but it's totally worth it to play the game.
The only trouble I've had (and it sucks cause it's very affecting) is i can't really group with people in pub games, the lag gets pretty horrible. In single player I have no problem, even with background apps. who knows. Edit: it does also crash every hour or so, but that's totally expected and not a problem. I mean I am playing a game that's not officially out yet, on a machine it's not officially made for. I'm satisfied. :D -half man, half bearpig- Last edited by ManBearPig1#5734 on Jan 28, 2013, 2:18:36 PM

Without logs, I cannot determine cause of crash. Also if the crash is reproducible by some action, let me know, so I can work on it.
