I found this thread which describes my issue exactly:

" It does, but there was a issue with the Intel HD 3000 before. Possibly the Driver support for shader 3.0 on intel was added later in 10.7. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4282807?start=0&tstart=0 - this confirms it. Would anybody have an idea about my problem regarding the launcher? I'm stuck at checking resources for more than an hour or so.

X11 cannot started
On my mac it won't open. X11 cannot started it says...And sometimes I get a white screen. Please help im not really sure how to change things on my mac ~.~ |

" Mac version? HW? Logs? You know that is hard to investigate something when you have almost no info. Try to install http://xquartz.macosforge.org/downloads/SL/XQuartz-2.7.4.dmg and try again. |

i read about PoE going open beta today and wondered if they have a mac client yet. then i found this thread :)

Another question on being able to start the game. When I try to start it a box comes up saying "connecting" and "checking resources". It disappears and nothing happens. It seems the game is running but there is no picture nor sound.
Same thing happened to the Diablo 2 port i downloaded some time ago. For some reason d2 worked perfectly for a while, then suddenly one day the game wouldnt start. I am a noob at mac so I dont really have a clue what to do. I saw an installation video on youtube, and im not sure if i need to do that process or not. When I looked into it I could not open the PoE folder when trying to install wineskin at least. Thanks in advance, help would be appreciated! The computer is a macbook pro.
