Thanks for the answers !
It actually seems that the lastest patch from GGG has fixed the problem. When I saw the announcement yesterday, I told myself to just wait a bit (anyway I was at work). And this morning, I just re-downloaded the CX version 2h ago at page 1 to do a new clean install (my previous install didn't even show the launcher of the game), and everything seems to work ! I haven't time to play and test right now if there is a problem, but at least, the game have downloaded, launched, loaded, and entered Sarn without problems... I guess we can say we are back to the game :) Last edited by Deathrasher59#3663 on Mar 3, 2016, 5:20:46 AM

So on my side it seems to work - after the first launch the loading is also a bit faster now. I still need to tweek a bit the graphic settings in the ini for my older computer, but it runs already really smooth and the FPS are ok (only when enemies spawn or nice attack effects happen it slows down a lot).
One question: It seems that my mouse is not that responsive - when I wanted to "run around" the mini boss to avoid his hits it was really hard to get my character to react properly on the mouse clicks - is that normal or can I tweek that too? Will keep you updated also if crashes occur etc. Last edited by agonyorlust#0107 on Mar 3, 2016, 7:28:03 AM

UPDATE - Disregard what I wrote. I was able to replace Wineskin with an older version, and I seem to be moving forward ok. Thanks again!
------ Hi Licoffe, Thanks for the great, helpful info. Like a bunch of others I'm dead in the water. I followed your instructions using the wrapper you linked to. Everything seems fine until I try to open the Wineskin.app that came bundled in the wrapper. I keep getting a message that it's damaged and I should get rid of it. Can't seem to get around it. Can you think of anything I'm doing wrong. I'm not too familiar with Wineskin but I've using an older version to run POE for a couple years now. Everything's been fine until now. I'm using an iMac, 10.10.5 Thanks! Last edited by Baroque#3136 on Mar 3, 2016, 9:57:37 AM

Everytime I try to update I get an error once I finish downloading the files and get this:

" The program is trying to access the method GetSystemTimePreciseAsFileTime in the api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-2-1 dll. In order to get this to work, you should: 1. Right-click on Path Of Exile.app, then "Show Package Contents" 2. Open Wineskin.app 3. Click on Advanced 4. Click on Tools tab and then Config Utility (winecfg) 5. Click on Libraries tab 6. In 'New override for library' copy api-ms-win-core-sysinfo-l1-2-1 7. Select it in the list, press Edit and select native, then close the window 8. Try running Path Of Exile again Hope it helps :) -----------------------------------------------------

@Licoffe,
your version indeed runs (thanks :)). However, the sound is not working, even if the --nosound option is removed. @Deathrasher59, I did like you, downloading again yesterday the CX version. The oddest is that this file is the same than 2 days ago ! (I made a diff). Two days ago it crashed ... today it is working O_o By the way, Avast detects a Win32:Evo-Gen in the CX version :/ |
|
Now i can play PoE on my mac so it's nice... but when when i put the game in fullscreen it gets crashed and says: failed Direct3D resetting device objects.
Any solution for this? Thanks to all for the support. |

@Licoffe,
So the good news is that nearly everything seems up and running! My movement is fairly smooth using the settings you suggested. The bad news is that, I also, have no sound. And that's with the nosound flagged. Thanks for all the help so far. Your instructions were quite easy to follow. |
