Have a new problem. Was playing just fine and it froze solid. Rebooted the game and the window comes up as a 2"x2" square. Any attempts to make it bigger just expands the pixels and looks horrible. The mouse moves but does not interact with the screen. Not offset, does not react anywhere. Deleted and reinstalled with no improvement. HELP!

Had this a few times, quite annoying.

Don't try resizing the window, but instead try to change the resolution like that. The cursor is a bit off, and the buttons don't have the right writing on them. I had to press the empty button between Quit and Options to get into the options. Then use the resolution dropdown menu to change to a normal resolution. It sometimes goes back to that small window on launch, so it's quite annoying, and I'm sure there's a better solution than this.

Another solution is to edit the production_Config.ini file. See FAQ for details.

the best Wine fix ever he will be when they will fix fps drop. It's frustrating when i'm fighting in dungeon and i got fps drop under 5 fps each time I move or mobs appear.
Seriously man? That's not a Wine bug as much as it's a game problem. Other than the model preloading bug (first time you summon skeleton lag, etc), it's all game problems, not Wine problems.

And I mention this being the best fix because for 1.5 years I've had to put up with the nasty looking bugged font, so having someone fix it is awesome.

I'm serious man and i know the games had lag for PC too.. but explain me why it's took 30-45s sometimes to travel and PC 5-10s ? Why I've got under 5 fps when I move in dungeon ( And I use SMC Fan to accelerate my fan don't get my mac to hot ) . I know PC users got lag when summoner got a lot of skeleton but isn't normal how I lag. I try to playin Docks Run for loot but I loss half my loot because of lagging. I don't imagine when i will be at the last difficulty.

I don't want clear all the fps issues because the original open beta got issues too, but if it would be great reduce it little bit and can play with people correctly and fps drop sometimes not like actually is often as fuck. Because yes dude I love i got the oppurtinity to play PoE on Mac and play with friends but sometimes i've had no fun cuz the crazy fps issue getting annoying ans frustating..

Because, welcome to Apple. think different does not mean different is better. The worst lags are caused by OSX and only way to fix it is not use it. On High details the summon skelleton skill lags game for 7,8s, from which 6s is OSX loading it to memory (this is done in fraction of second on windows and linux), also it is the same reason for long loading times. the remaining time is GPU driver trying to make the game sync again.

I've already opened bug at Apple with a test case about year ago, and they closed it as duplicate. So they know about it, but if or when it does get fixed is in the stars...

And I can't ask GGG devs to don't use map* functions in the game, just because of few Mac users...
uploaded wrappers with fixed fonts.

It's funny, I got a mac specifically because the wow mac client was way better, smoother, responded better, and had built in video capture. With mac's dominating the home PC sales market in recent years you would think a mac client would be higher on the list of things to work on. Those few current mac users "willing to give this port a try, and thanks for working on it", might be a bigger group if it preformed like D3 does on the mac which is very much refined, smooth, etc.

Hopefully in the future, we can only hope. That said, this all wouldn't really be a problem if bootcamp worked on 3TB drives :(

Thanks,

Don't compare native ports. WoW and D3 was made natively for Mac. Also Blizzard have a lot of resources to spare on mac version of game.

Because some thinks that tablets are PC, also this apply only on USA market, not Europe.

According downloads, there are about 4000 mac PoE gamers... which is less than 4% of all PoE gamers... (not so much big anomyre. eh)?

Oh, I wasn't comparing the wine port to a native port. I was implying that if there was a native port I think the population would be much higher than 4%. Trying to say it would be worth the development time, in my opinion. It would be interesting to see what the mac D3 population was. I bet we would see a smiler spread. I agree, Blizzard has many many more resources to throw at the games I don't expect that here. This game still remains much more fun to play even with the bugs and not as smooth interface than D3 despite that giant budget Blizzard had.
Thanks,
MrGravis
Hi, amazing job with the mac port, loving this game so far! The game runs fine when i play by myself, some lags here and there but it is bearable. The lag increases whenever theres too many monsters or spell animations. Whenever i party with someone though (doesn't matter if its 1 player or 5 players), the lag increases tremendously and the program always crashes. I didn't mind playing the game by myself up until cruel act 3, where i desperately need to party to beat piety.

I've been searching through the forums for a while now to see if i can find a fix but i dont really understand most of what im seeing. This is what pops up when the game crashes and i click show details:

seems like wine cant cope with huge lag and crashes, put details on minimum possible, or try to use 3.8 wrapper if there is any improvment.

Details are at the most minimal, vsync, post processing and screen shake are off, and the drop downs are at the lowest it can be.
Im using a macbook pro 13". Im also using the port v4.0.2, i will try v3.8 and see how that goes.
