TBH you don't have to use Chaos at lvl 40 yet IMHO, rerolling blue items to get 1 or 2 really good mods on them, together with the really good rare you find here and there can get you easily forward (i'm currently 51 in Ruthless with my main templar - and i'm still using a magical scepter (i rerolled it untill i got an ele damage mod and a attacks speed mod - i would have taken it with 2 ele mods as well ;) Yes rares are nice but mostly even 2 mods can be enough, though it is slightly build dependant of course))

BTW you should try Fellshrine as a farming area... When i went fo a full clear when i was lvl 49 i found a huge amount of currency items (i think that i've found about 20 currency items in just this one full clear)

I will try it today though my first clear today for it didn't yield much i gotta say.

I am 63.

Because the flaws in my build are very apparant at this level, I am running level 57 / 58 mobs in pyramid, etc to gain XP.

I think I clearly see the "penalty"...scrolls...I have good MF along with the quality and quantity gems linked to cleave, so I get a ton of drops..BUT they are mostly scrolls lately.

Ive noticed this over the past 2 or 3 nights of playing. I wonder if the devs formula does a level check and instead of dropping an orb lets say, drops a scroll?

Of course, it could just be the RNG as well ;-))

I'm quite sure you don't have any penalty for lvl 58 (and IMHO neither for 57) mobs, because of the system i describet above (the lvl window where you don't get any penalties grows with your lvl - check the mechanics topic, it even sais directly (as an example) that even a lvl 24 character has a window which ranges from -4 to +4 lvls for him ->so he has no penalties against mobs lvl 20-28)

so on lvl 63 you have a window of 3+3 (you'll have 3+4 when you reach 64) so you get full rewards for mobs lvl 57-69.

Damn, i was under the impression that if there is no xp penalty there is also no drop penalty... :S I'm sorry... It seems i have to read sources i quote more carefully next time XD Thank you for the clarification.
