Thanks for this guide, it really helped me with building my summoner.

A question though, when you are faced with a 3/4L chest with far better defensive stats(significantly better es/armor/resist) than your 5L, is it worth giving up the linked gem(s) slot for it?

Hi! Nice guide.

I'm building summoner of my own and i mixed in some spell damage ...
well i miss the minion cluster on the right - thats 20% minion health and 1skel&zombie..

The thing is ... zombies die way too much for my liking. I'm farming library (well docks weren't that better in that regard0
My link is rise zombie +melee splash + multristrike + IIR.
lv 16 zombie no Q.
Discipline (hp) , purity and haste.

I think the only way to keep them alive is to meatshield them with skeletons but then i can't attack ...
Another option replace multistrike with LL/LoH ... what wont work well since how much life damage will lose and they die in one go mostly to aoe packs...
That leaves it with minion and totem ressitance that i don't have much faith in ... ~18% resist ... eck.

I got animation flasks but i don't thin they are effective at this point... (using collosal maybe thats
I could change also haste but for ... what? does determination / grace give minions + i lack the needed str / dex for higher levels.

I'm going around by disabling haste when zombies die, poping flask and spaming raise but i dislike it.

At what point i can expect zombies to not die miserably whenever somthing harder is involved - mostly elites with aoe.

WoW ... if you are refering to zombies geting resist bonus at lv 20 i know that ... except it reqires im guesing 15 times the exp my gem has aquired so far...

Also there are quite a bit of non elemental attacks there - GMP snakes alchemists that resist doesnt do much for.

Library is the best place to farm outside of maps for where you are at right now, so stay there at the very least. Mobs are slow for the most part and the only thing you really have to worry about is packs of bone rhoas and magic freezing pulse guys. Level 16 non-quality zombies are gonna have a hard time there, no getting around that, but you just have to keep grinding away and leveling the gem.
I just played on my old Anarchy build with a lvl 19 20Q Zombie gem and it was truly a world of difference in terms of difficulty. Zombies were way more tanky, even before the magic level 20. Also, I would replace IIR with a damage gem of some sort right now. You're not gonna get too many drops anyway if mobs can outlast your minions.

Thank You. I wish i knew who is grabbing most killing blows but resumoning is slowing me down and i think me and sentinels are doing most damage. I will try that maybe also add LoH once i level it up and see if its worth it.
i've been leveling a witch following your guide in Domination league, but Raise Zombie level 20 costs 1 exalted or smth similar.

Do you think that building it with 20 quality 0% gems bought on lowest prices through xyz and making it quality 20% with GCP might be worth it?
