[2.0]Rathik's NEWBIE FRIENDLY FUN&CHEAP FARMER, DPS Summoner. High AOE DMG, SURVIVAL."The Matriarch"

Hi there, I'm no expert but I will try to answer your questions since I have made a scion following this guide, level 81 now and going great.

You should start taking the life based leveling build from the first page. CI reduces your life to 1 point and gives 100% chaos resistance. How do you survive in these conditions? You max your ES (and all the other resistances, ofc). Since when you are low level you don't have access to the passive points and gear to boost your ES, it is advisable to start and level as life based, until you can switch to CI.

The 68 level is not set in stone, you can go CI few levels earlier if you have the right equipment or you can wait few more levels past 68 if you don't feel ready at 68. It's up to you to decide when to make the switch.

About the minions, it's true they are kinda weak in the early levels, but they will do some damage, its not flat zero. You should support them with gems that add to their survability and damage and they should be fine. That's why you use some attack in the early levels (such as EK), so you can kill mobs that your minions are not yet capable to handle.

At level 68 you can use a level 20 raise zombie gem and you will notice a big difference (one more reason why level 68 is a good point to start thinking switching to CI).

My advice is to read very carefully the whole guide from the first page (it's all very well explained in there) and as many comments as you can (I know there are a lot of pages) and I'm sure you will get it.

I hope I have helped you get the general idea.

Is CI mandatory for this build? I'm thinking about this boots (http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Wondertrap) as great iir boost for those who haven't good equipment but with CI you can't maintain low life

Ci is not mandatory. Nor is it mandatory to even switch over from life to energy shield.
In my humble opinion.

Thanks. Sorry, but your explanation was more newbie friendly than the one in the first page.

Thanks again.

One thing to note about leveling as a summoner, Summon Raging Spirit made it so much easier it isn't even funny. Zombies are still paper in the early game, but by level 4 you can get the Spirit gem (as a witch at least) and it works wonders. They have a short duration, sure, but they are fast, strong (at low level) and they scale with all your minion passives (unlike flameblast/searing bond/EK). They are not a massive mana drain either. They should fill your flasks long before you run out of the ability to summon them.
Rathik... do you use either Flesh or Bone offering? If you do... are there any support gems you use with them?

I dont get it. What support gems could possibly be used with either of Offerings except Increased Duration? (reduced duration makes no sense obviously)
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

i for one use increased aoe.
more corpses are consumed and the buff fills approximately one screen. inc duration isn't needed imo because even if there are no dead enemies left a new buff is only a desecrate away
and i will stop doing so! thanks mattc

Am pretty sure increased aoe doesn't affect flesh/bone offering. Its not tagged with AOE.
