I'd just like to know what you guys think about this bow... I have a DH as well but this adds 300 dps on paper. What do you think? At what point, if ever, do we swap out the DH?

Relying on out of game stats to be a determinant for future progression will not work with this build. DPS is not taking the fact there are 2 arrows into account. Whatever your tooltip says, effectively double it to get closer to an accurate assessment. Additionally, if you do take increased aoe dmg passives, this is not calculated either. Its there, you just cant put a number to it.

Thx for the ranged attack totem tip Tyr
I couldnt even get past the first quest in merciless yesterday

Now, thanks to ranged totem+ice shot+faster attack, just finished soloing Brutus :D

Spectre and Raise zombie were also very usefull as a meat shield

Im glad you are finding the combo useful. I couldnt do anything from merci a3 on without spectre/ice shot totem.

What are you thoughts on CI? I'm currently level 61 and running a similar build to your own on Hardcore - can't play Default, I'd get bored without the added risk. I'm about half way through Act 1 Merciless, just before Brutus, contemplating defense. I've had to sacrifice alot of DPS in favour of hp/resist and I'm thinking maybe full ES is the way to go.

I've mainly gone for a combination of Eva/ES gear, and my evasion currently sits at 22%. Not great. Which is why I'm thinking evasion and/or armour is pretty useless and points may be better spent elsewhere.

My idea is to pick up CI, Ghost Reaver and Zealot's Oath. With the points saved from those hp nodes, pick up the ES nodes in the center of the passive tree and take a detour down the right side of the Witch path and pick up whats there. Also around the center are a lot of easily accessible mana/mana regen nodes.

In short: big mana pool, sufficient to run whatever auras needed, insane mana regen, and no worry for chaos damage. Granted, there's still puncture but I'm hoping the ES shield will be meaty enough to take it... cos even with 2k hp and 800 ES, a hit from a puncture mob in Act 3 Cruel almost had me.

For defense I currently employ decoy totem/spectre which has worked out great so far. Currently grinding mats to try the ranged ice shot totem thats been mentioned in this thread. I don't get hit often as I stay mobile as much as possible, but my over-zealous need for safety is hindering my damage output and I'm trying to find a balance.

I have no experience with CI, Ghost Reaver or Zealot's Oath so what I might be suggesting could be way off the mark, but I wanted your opinion before I started re-farming my gear. How big can an ES get at end-game with the right gear? Or even mid-game around the lv60 mark?

Cheers.

Regarding puncture: ok, just read that the damage output increases when you move. I remember it mentioned on the skill gem but it didnt occur to me until now. There's also mention in another thread that armour reduces the damage of the initial hit which in turn reduces the damage of the dot. However, something about an armour-clad elemental bowman doesn't sit right with me. I always play an Argonian Witchhunter in the Edler Scrolls games, something which I'm trying to recreate minus the scales.

customized, tankier version of the build I'm currently using

I decided to skip over the witch damage nodes and just take the short way around the middle, saving about 2 points in the process (just counting the route-nodes).
For mana, I'm using mana leech support gems for now. I kinda just want to see where this build leads me, and when I'm left unsatisfied, I'm going to respec what I need to respec.

My question now is, where do I go from here?

Should I invest 2 points into the shadow shock node?
Should I directly go for crit? (I can reach a lot of crit nodes from here)
Maybe even go for one or even two accuracy nodes in/near the templar tree? (I could reach both with 4 points investment)

Would it be better to make a new topic for this? It's a pretty modified build after all
anyone can make a HC version of this build please ?
maybe going CI ? can it be done ?
i'm play a CI crit dagger build , got a Lioneye's Glare the other day, really want to make it useful
Thanks

Nah, its not too off. I certainly continue to encourage & recommend people finding methods that work best for them. I just cant attest or recommend variations I havent used myself.

As for a HC, Im not the guy to ask. Too much pressure if it doesnt work. Plus, I farm in mf gear 1 level below the map for fun. Clearing content I shouldnt be able to is my challenge :) My rewards come from the risks & death is an acceptable loss when shinies are to be had.

I ditched CI months ago & have no plan on getting it again. My observations on CI & this build might be buried in like September or so. Have fun diggin in the archives if ya like. Im not going down there tho... madness awaits.

I am a ci build, and one thing I can say is that.. unlike HP builds, Ci's greatest problem is becoming VERY gear dependent.
My Craft Logs-thread/359202
Im currently doing this Shadow bow bouild and is at lvl 42 now.
My problem is i do very little damage and are very weak.
Is this something who will change when i get higer lvl and get better gear?
Now i had to redo many quests just to get xp to get more passive skillpoints.
I dont have any yber gear and have not found one legendary item yet.
it's just rares who has to do it for me atleast for now.

I hope the build will get alot stronger when i gen more lvl and some decent gear.
I currently use ice shot or elemental hit as my main attacks, with poison arrow as a backup.

/Mateo
