Just to kind of help make my point more clear, I think that because GGG is a small company, they need a way to be able to make enough money to have a full time support team dedicated to hack/dupe prevention. Offline option would give them some strong leverage for sales.

Well, if they thought so, they'd do it, right? I expect they know their finances and their business plan a fair bit better than any of us.

Hey, I'd love an offline version too, and there's nothing wrong with making your desire known, but you an only say so much. There's really not much point saying it'd be better for them financially, because that's just a guess; you don't know their position and you can't predict the future.

There's always room for hope - I mean they said they had no plans for an Australian server before that happened, too. But it's not up to us, they'll do it or they won't. At the moment it looks like they won't, and people for who that's a deal-breaker are free to spend their time and money elsewhere.

D3 was very different from PoE.

As the Devs have stated, D3 handled desync a different way than PoE does. This involved having the entire game on the client computer which makes it easily hackable/crackable.

I'm certain there's a lot of things on the PoE servers that never gets onto the Client machines (like drop tables, and things like that) that would have to be made up from scratch for a cracked version of PoE to work.

Meaning it wouldn't nearly be the same game at all. :|

I doubt PoE will ever be single player either by way of being sold by GGG or by way of being cracked in any form. There's too much resistance for the former and too much work to be done to make the latter happen.

Offline single-player+LAN mode with (slightly) alternate game coding to prevent ezmode hacking. Players who want self-found league also get what they want. 2 birds 1 stone. Charge $20-$50 for this capability. 3 birds!

This game pretty much builds on the Diablo 2 "closed beta"-legacy. That means no mods and no offline-play. Many people enjoyed playing Diablo 2 on closed beta, and they only wished for a more non-hacking secure game - which this game is. There is plenty of options for a SP ARPG, Grim Dawn, Van Helsing and TL2. This game is made for competitive online play - the other games are not. Maybe you should play the games, that match your criteria instead.

GGG chose to be online only, not only to prevent hacking/cheating but they also designed the game with multiplayer in priority, sure, you can play alone/not trade but it is not meant to be

I was only playing offline singleplayer games before Diablo 3 and Path of exile came out, those games forced me into online only and I'm still fucking pissed about it

yeah, yeah, its not going to change but that doesn't change that I still fucking need those games offline and every single fucking day I'm desperately hoping that both of them change their minds and a patch is released, thats the reason why I lurk both forums, I seriously almost give no fuck at all about any of the change they incorporate in each new patch
