I would pay 59.99 for this game.....
to include an offline play option.
I know this has been asked for before, but I think it would be a win/win situation for both GGG and us players. GGG would get a legitimate revenue source, and I think a lot of people would pay for this option. No matter how good of an internet connection you have, you're always going to have lag spikes for one reason or another. I would just like to have the option of being able to play the game without depending on a server response from another country. I would still play online of course, but it would just be a nice option. This thread has been automatically archived. Replies are disabled.

This has been asked before. Yes. And the answer has always been: not happening.
The reason for this are hackers. Once they get access to all game data (especially those, that is currently stored server-side) we'll be flooded with hacked stuff. Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon!

" Please link me the response from a GGG developer that stated "not happening". Besides this, no matter what GGG does, there will be hacks for this game that will make it playable offline. So either you charge 59.99 for the game which will fund anti hacking support, or you leave it as is and it will happen anyways. Diablo 3 has been hacked since closed beta to be able to play offline. Sorry I just don't buy this argument at all, but if you can provide me some educated and logical reasons why what you're saying is true then I'm all ears. |

They will not do this no matter how many people make threads about this and beg for it. Just deal with it.

Mark stated that
" Except I know for a fact that diablo 3 has been hacked to be able to play offline, and that is an online only game. Don't you think it's possible that GGG's lack of financial resources will be a bigger problem in attempting to prevent hacks rather then allowing offline play ? " So you say because they lack the means to prevent it completely they should encourage it? “Demons run when a good man goes to war"

" No, I'm saying the negatives of allowing offline play are far outweighed by the positives of charging 59.99 for the game with an offline feature, because of the added resources from said revenue. And yes, a lot of people would be willing to pay the average new title price for offline play. Increased revenue = better game support. Last edited by Nolimitation#3131 on Jul 18, 2013, 5:48:26 AM

" Except they would have to completely rebalance drop rates to accommodate people playing solo. They don't want to compromise their online security, get over it bro. People cracked D3 because it's a huge blockbuster game and lots of people care about it, pretty much no one cares about PoE, don't expect a crack any time soon. |

It doesn't matter what any of us thinks about this, or how desperately some want an offline mode: It's a decision made by GGG. They want this game to be online only, as do many players.
One of the main features wouldn't even be possible offline: ladder races. Sorry Exile, but your loot is in another dungeon!
