Off the top of my head....USB keys with POE logo, tee-shirts of course, coffee mugs, etc etc.

I think you could generate significant income from this with the added benifit of getting the name out there. Sure, the margins may not be high, but its also a form of marketing. Many of us would purchase gear I'm sure.

Well, anything I can think of, you've already thought of no doubt, and I am NOT in marketing (Sysadmin). Advertising works, else we wouldnt be so bombarded with it on a daily basis.

Actually I'd say marketings actual effectiveness is fairly up for debate at the minute. It certainly can have a solid impact, especially among people who aren't actively looking for a new game but word of mouth and youtube content can actually provide a massive amount of free marketing.

We also know that a guy like Kripp, since leaving D3 will have made a tonne of people more aware of the game, a lot weren't impressed sure but a fair amount were and that is successful 'advertising'.

I think if you're a mega corp like Blizzard marketing is a no brainer, but if you're more budget conscious I think you should be very careful in how, when, and where you market your game.

Besides, right now the game is beta, you shouldn't advertise a beta product, you can buy into the game sure but a lot of people will still (despite knowing its a beta) judge it as a full game when there is still a tonne of polish to be done.

Open beta will probably see a bigger flood of people coming and in the meantime word of mouth is doing good things, once the game is in open beta or released maybe things can be considered.

After that, if things really aren't going well, you can always try putting the game on steam, and that's probably all the marketing you need.

Also... GO GGG! Act 3 pleeeeeease!

Could we have some stats on the latest 2 week HC event?

How many people of each class reached level 10,20,30...etc

Distribution of players as spell casters, melee, bow/wand for level 10,20,30...etc

What other analysis did you do and could you share your deductions?
