[1.2.0] Ice Pierce Crit Ranger

I'm only 55 with the build but having a blast.

One thing that's crossed my mind is trying out cursing crit vulnerability and linking the pierce gem.

I hate curse immune mobs not piercing consistently and I think cursing crit vulnerability is the single biggest boost to crit chance you can get so it should work out very nicely.

Has anyone tried it out? just started leveling my gems so I can't really test.

The curse immunity is why I run Pierce gem in my 5-link, as for curses I've started to run Frostbite as of late, more freezing, more cold dmg, all round win/win.

Mostly these days I am 6-grouping in mid-high maps. Cursing is rarely an option, hence I run a pierce gem. I find it very effective.

When alone, cold pen is amazing. So is the knockback from PW. This makes me fairly reluctant to change to CW full time, especially as PW has a more damage effect as well as increasing my effective accuracy.

In short, CW is not my cup of tea, but it might very well be yours.

Alone I haven't been running cold pen because of lionseye, I'm assuming you take a LOT less damage from reflect (ele and phys) if you can evade w/Ondar's Guile?

In theory you are supposed to take a lot less damage if you can evade it. In practice...you're talking to the nutcase who runs 77 maps in a Tabula Rasa. I have no evade worth speaking of.

Leveling my archer with this guide, and i am very pleasuful with working. Lv 39 and just i have find an incredible bow for my level. I am planning not to change it until 55 or so. This bow has very nice stats for build.

Updated for 0.11.4 and auras. I'm a lazy bugger, I had been running Grace Wrath with a BM gem for ages anyway, so I know it works.

Do want to see Voltaxic Rift in play, do not have the currency to get and link one within the first couple days of it coming out.

I just want to thank you for this build, currently level 69, I have some great success with it, and it is definitely fun.

I managed to have a hybrid build, using bm skill gem for IS and mana with frenzy! crit chance gets up to about 39%, need to find some upgrades for quiver and ammy, then should bring me over 40% ! then will just pick up more hp nodes + crit multipler! and I will see how things go, dont know why this thread is dead, it is definitely a great build and fun one as well! more fun than LA for sure!

Items I am using are,
Carass, Lioneye, Alphas helm (running, anger, hatred, purity) , thief torment (must!!), rainbowstride, (would love to be able to run with blood dance, it will keep up my frenzy charges.

Once again thanks for the build, hope you keep this tread alive, I am sure a lot of other people will want to give it a go.

Could you post the final build for this? That build part kinda confused me. I started out as a Ranger. Feel free to add me in-game. Any tips would be helpful. IGN - Avatarded

It's not my style to bump the thread unless I have updates or am responding to someone's post. The thread is "alive" as long as the title reflects the current patch.

With a bit of gear mana leech, high enough damage, and Thief's Torment, I'm sustaining IS on mana. Just about. Might consider trying that out? I don't know why you're using rainbows tbh, but whatever works for you.

There is no one "final build". I don't do final builds, because of differences between people in experience, gear and playstyle. I think I do have a level 82~ somewhat unoptimal build posted somewhere in the thread on someone's request, that's probably the closest you'll get.

I guess I'm going to update the first post with final endgame mapping now.
