Your tree should work, though I'd worry about your defensive capabilities. Depending on your gear you should experience moderate to great success, but I don't think Unwavering Stance or Iron Grip are really all that good for this particular build.

I can understand why you would want Iron Reflexes on the way to Vaal pact. In truth, if you are going Iron Reflexes, the other two key stones sort of make sense. But what I don't think fits so well in that is Iron Grip. I don't recall it giving very much if anything to the ranged attack of lightning strikes, but if you had the extra point to throw out there and it works for you then great.

The beauty of this game is the freedom to go any direction you want with a build or character type. Just because I chose to go more into the Int side doesn't make my build better or worse, just different. Personally your build looks fun, and I think you will be fine. I just put different emphasis on aura strength and mitigate being stunned by just positioning correctly and knowing limitations without vaal pact.

How far along are you currently in that build?

Hn? I do have the Mind Drinker passive node. You should look a little more closely friend :).

If you saw something 'sketchy' you ought to point out specifically what it is, since when the reset for 1.0 occurred I literally just went through the most direct routes to my old standard skill tree. I saw an up tick in damage, a slight decrease in energy shield, but an overall more rounded character that pre 1.0

There is no soft core. But I guess if you're referring to standard league, I played this character up from no gear, as my first character to the point that it is at now. The build is very achievable, and the skill tree works just fine. If you're questioning that you can add me in game for a demonstration.

I actually currently run two auras, if you had bothered to look at the linkage I use Hatred + Discipline with enough mana in the bank to spam out Lightning Strike, flicker, or even double strike to my heart's content while also dashing around with whirling blades and hexing targets of priority with vulnerability + viper striking them.

i took another look, but dont know why for me your tree is bugged i get diffrent nodes that "looks taken" but nothing connected, think you can link your tree again :) been running this build a lot on hc and been running it on nemesis also :)[/quote]

Heres my current build, just to give new players more examples on how this build still works and have some fun,
Although keep in mind i adapted this build to myself and changed some stuff.
main change is that removed flicker strike, and replaced it with a 2nd double strike for AoE, since lightning strike is just not that good at clearing and leeching life/mana.
I have 100k dps and 6k ES, coupled with 71% phys damage reduction from Grace with iron reflexed + granite and jade flasks used at the same time.

If you plan on using this build on hardcore/nemesis, i would recommend you to gather some starter levelling gear first with a different character, because otherwise you will struggle ALOT.

Hi Anamaeus, tnx for you reply! Probably you're right, i'm wasting a lot of points to take Unwavering Stance, maybe it's better to take the Eye of Chayula instead, and stop my tree at Vaal Pact.
The purpose of Iron Reflexes stands on the fact that the build increased a lot the Evasion, so maybe using an hybrid eva/es chest will increase my dmg reduction, and also you can both use a granite and a jade flask. The only problem i can see is in the colors of the chest..Running an eva/es chest will make you spend a lot of chromes in order to get the 3 off color u need for LS..

I've just looked at ur passive..how can u deal with reflect mobs without vaal pact?

I deal with the lack of Vaal Pact by knowing my limitations in respect to reflect mobs. Whether they be physical, or elemental they're all susceptible to Viper Strike, which powers mobs down with Chaos damage stacks of damage over time. Truthfully I could blast them down most of the time with flicker, lightning strike or double strike I just activate my granite flask -prior- to striking and thus reduce the damage returned moderately. That and with Blood Rage my life(es) leech is considerably high, which also helps offset the returned damage. But like I said, if the mobs I see are hurting me too significantly I can just Viper them down without issue.

I also believe you don't HAVE to run Eye in order to deal with stun lock. You can play this build long enough to a point that, when you understand just what you can run into a room and handle or not, you will position yourself accordingly to not get chain-stunned to death.

But yeah, your build works for you, run it man! It's all in the fun of the game to try different styles.

I am tired. I love this build, always have. I've been playing it on hardcore, died multiple times in merciless, never caring about the next thing. The only thing that bothered me was dying to desync. So I went domination now. I know it's hard to build this character without any currency..

The items are expensive, the gear is important. But I'm level 74 now, farmed sarn city from 60 to 73 and went one level up in maps. I've been grinding maps for a week now, I keep dying, so I don't even transmute them anymore. Today was the last drop.. Played 4 hours, 0 currency worth of orbs or items and went down 5% of my 77% xp bar. 1 week! 0 progress. I'm really trying here, but I just don't get any currency to up my gear so I can play with my mates. They are all 85 now, we started together.

I really don't know what to do anymore.

I don't know the prices on domination, but I'd just save and buy an ES chestpiece, you could probably get a non linked one with 5-600 ES for a relatively cheap price, and then at least 4L it yourself. Or you could keep farming and buy a 5L 6-700 ES chestpiece when you'll have enough. You can just farm Piety with a IIR/IIQ gem and vendor all the trash, it's probably more cost effective than running maps.

Try to change you headpiece too, get at least an ES or hybrid one... you should be able to find/drop a 100 ES circlet easily, and it's probably better than what you're using. Later you can always substitute it with an Alpha Howl.

Keep 2 surgeon's granite flask with you, and maybe a jade one too since you're on Domination. Pop them before you jump in, and you won't die so easily.

I'd change Warlord's Mark with an Enduring Cry, some more damage mitigation is always nice. Just cast your curses manually before engaging.

I'd also consider replacing frenzy with viper strike, for those situations when you can't tank and have to kite... You already have blood rage as a mean to get frenzy charges.

On your passives, I wouldn't have gone to Vaal Pact, since you probably don't deal enough damage for it to be useful (I have a 180 DPS dagger and a 5L, and I still don't hit the leech rate cap). You could spend those skill points in survivability, by grabbing some shield node (increased block chance and increased defenses), as well as the few +ES nodes you're still missing.
