I haven't played with it too much as you can see with my nube gloves but since it can't be used with the melee physical gems I'd go heavy on crit scaling. The Power on Crit gem can be used with tempest shield for charges.

The obvious ones are Spectral Throw - LMP - Faster Attacks - Increased Crit Damage. From there it would be best to try things. I've heard slower projectiles and point blank is good because it keeps the projectiles in the "More" zone. If so then there's also the point blank keystone. There's the cast on Crit insanity but it will probably get nerfed considering I was causing people to crash when I was doing it with my wander. That's not me in the video though

Theres also Life Leech. Stacking life leech from quality blood rage and the life leech gem can negate reflect damage with VP and offer lots of survivability.

Ok i want you guys to know that im releasing the passive tree tomorrow with long text explainning most of the stuff and why you need the nodes you need. and what skills/gem im using also!

So I recently began a shadow with this build, following the basic instructions, getting the needed gems ect but I recently saw what you said and now I'm very lost ..

What's the main aoe spell should I consider ? lightning strike or spectral throw ?
On the passive tree, should I really go all the way down to get vaal pact or is it really needed ?

I'm new to the game (just lvled a lvl 76 dual claw life based vaal pact life stealing shadow on standard).

I'm on nemesis now and I'm trying to build a CI/ES shadow. Now since it's nemesis and the gear demands are BIG for such a build, I was wondering if this build could work with a dual claw/claw + shield with the RAKER claw nodes (essence raker, soul raker etc.) to get a lot of life steal. Combined with Ghost Reaver and Vaal pact, could that work for a HC char? Later, after you get some gear you can spec out of claws and go for daggers.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and someone experienced could post a build?

Note: I did not put points into shield or dual since I'm not sure which would be better... the build I posted is a "core". I am worried that it might be too "squishy" or might not have enough dps. Please share your thoughts.

Have you tried about using tempest shield + power charge on crit + cast when damage taken? That would keep your power charges up all the time

I was saying give it a try. If you want something that's sure to work well then go Spectral Throw - LMP - Faster Attacks - Increased Crit Damage - Power on Crit Additional Accuracy.

If you can find another source for power charges then you can trade PCoC for increased crit strikes. Additional Accuracy is very useful for crit attacks because of the way evasion works and quality gives crit chance.

It will be hard to roll those colors but for anyone who is crafting from a white 6L can use this method for off colors:
