[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

With the lack of Eye in the new leagues, would it be worth it to go all the way down to Unwavering Stance? Having no stun immunity as a CI melee character seems very scary.

How playable is this build without EoC and freeze immunity?

I took this build to lv74 in standard league before this patch. I died to being stun locked a handful of times, mostly due to roa charges and maybe a couple other mobs. Freeze on the other hand can be dispeled with a flask. Though that doesn't mean I didn't die to mobs that can freeze, namely a ton of skele ice mages will do you in if your aren't fast enough to react.

Having no EoC or freeze immunity just takes practice to learn how to best position yourself for every encounter. This was my first char and build on this game. I most likely wouldn't make the same mistakes twice now that I know how to properly counter some situations.

I have been thinking about some variants to get unwaving stance and maybe Iron reflex, but sacrificing Inner force. here are some Ideas :

This one has US + IR + more max / regen Mana :
First variant

Second US+IR another road :
Second variant

Third only US less points :
Third variant

I would really like to have some feedback about this trees and maybe some thoughts about how we can deal with freeze, stun ..etc.

Thanks and good day.

Howdy, I have a couple newbie questions:

1) If you are going for CI, why do you pick up life orbs?

2) If you are going for CI, why grab the 16% chaos resist node?

3) Is it possible to avoid using a shield and still be viable?

4) I see you pick up some +str, why is this necessary? Does str benefit us in some way?

Thanks!

1. You need life nodes to level up so you can switch to CI around lv60ish.

2. Same as above, chaos resist helps getting to lv60. By the time you reach lv60 (or when you decide to switch to CI you will have enough respec points from quests/might need a few regrets to unspec the life/chaos nodes).

3. The high ES/resists on a shield is why this build uses a shield, I really see no point in not using a shield.

4. STR nodes are mostly for gems. When you lvl up gems (namely lightning strike, reduce mana) these have requirements of STR.
@foufa: I personally do not think IR will help this build -that- much, my opinion though. I like the 3rd build. If you compare your third build to the two builds on the first page under the end game tab, the third build is not giving up that much more, I guess. The only thing about going for US is all those 10 STR nodes :P. With all those 10str nodes you would be able to use the buffed rustic sash, since you usually use a heavy belt for STR.

Then with the remaining 13 points you can grab Berserking for 15% attack speed, and there's another frenzy charge really close. So it seems that comparing your third build to the two on the first page again, you are giving up defense/ES for the stuff above. With the dmg/life nerfs to mobs, perhaps it will be okay to give up that defense/ES. I'm not sure, I have not played my lv74 shadow since this patch came out since I have started one on HC.
The reason i want to go for US is because on the new leagues there is no onyx amulet so we cant get Eye of chayula to get the stun immunity, and stun immunity is important in my opinion. You can also near US go for the mana reduc and the more armor, so i think that US is worth sacrificing Inner force and some nodes.

+1 Thanks
How effective is this build in group play doing maps? And if this build is very gear dependent how should one level before switching over?
