Seems to be a common problem in almost every ARPGs since D2, one of the few A-RPG that managed to allow offensive melee builds, and even then it sucked because of Iron Maiden lol. You're spending your currency wrong if you are dumping it into dream fragments in the first place. Status ailments only affect you when you are putting yourself in position to get stun locked or freeze locked to death. I don't have qualms with you choosing to move on to a less difficult build, I get that it isn't easy for a first timer let alone anyone who feels the CI nerfs were a lot to swallow.. But to say it's mandatory to have these uniques is just wrong. I am a level 81 Shadow and I run with groups all day in maps, I also run solo. Neither of which require those uniques to succeed. The build works, it's viable. I don't know how your gear stacks up, but this is what I am working with if you need an example to go from. The CI build still works, it's fine. Gear Block & stun recovery is a beautiful thing if you choose not to run Chayula, and even as low of an amount as I have currently, I still don't find myself being stun locked into bad situations. Being frozen? Drink a flask to remove it. I wish you and whomever else taking a break from their Shadow's the absolute best of luck. If it's not fun, don't play it. Hi, Anamaeus mate here. I'm not an expert with CI shadow builds but I can easely assure that it works so damn well in late game. The few times I saw him in trouble was desync stuff or lagging. We are actualy running maps all day long and his spec is a stong asset in our group. Running maps without him is much harder. End game means having a strong team and this spec is imho awesome in manyways. From what I can see on your skill tree you jumped into ES a little too early. You can spend the first portion of the game pre-ci build with more str+life nodes. I remember having about 1.2k HP and little to no ES until I started acquiring solid ES gear and even then it was treacherous. Focus your currency on a stronger DPS dagger, just one of them. You won't be dual striking later on as the ES gained from a good shield will make it easier to transition to double strike. Pick up a viper strike and level it while you are at it since you will be using it for solo target dps on bosses. If you have some respec points i'd pull out of the ES nodes for now if it's too difficult to survive, they won't do you any bit of good till you get some actual pure ES gear to make your nodes more worthwhile. Instead invest in the dagger line, get adder's touch, blood thirst, night stalker and flaying. You'll see a lot more dps out of your weapons then. Avoid using blood rage until you are CI, which sort of also goes hand in hand with Ghost reaver. Your ES pool is too little and your leech is near non existent so it won't do you any good. The whole set of gear will need an overhaul, so just scrounge by with whatever you can find until you can manage to get one solid dagger and then start saving for your ES chest piece.
