Fisting in 11.1 HanFistedFirst - Lvl 81 Facebreaker/Bringer of Rain Melee Build [Updated]

I am running the same build, however not the same shield.

I use these on me bringer

I felt the splash damage significant increased my damage in the aoe packs, and only lowered my singel target dps with about 2k~.

I run splash on trash and then switch to added fire for bosses. If you watch the videos you will see that this is what I'm doing. If you don't feel like switching then you can run splash all the time, but added fire does speed up boss kills considerably.

Getting Extra Quality on splash and infernal blow is a big deal too. Getting those will really make clearing groups easier.

could you give a step by step of skills you chose over the past couple levels. like by the end of normal should have these skills, end of cruel, and end of merc.
not sure if i should grab the shield nodes early or focus on all the life nodes first before shield.
I'll work on this reply if I can remember. I'll really have to think about it actually!
Just chiming in here after being told about this thread, so awesome to see builds romping it with the helmet I made! Awesome work, Justicemilk :)
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
Now if only you could give me the helmet you made... :C
Lv49 Breaker Onslaught, still trucking domblow/infblow
Trying to figure out where to farm for gear/exp
I need monies for that helm and shield...
Hi Justicemilk,

First I had problem getting endurance charges, but then i brought in enduring cry which have helped my survivalbility. I am able to solo 68 yellow maps at lvl 69. Even with this shield

need 70 so i can use my

However I think the low health is a real problem, so I am just going to pick HP nodes + HP reg.

Have you tried experiment with endurings cry with immortal call? Could be a really good combo if you just rush in, get 5-7 charges then immortality and then go for HULK SMASH!
Hey Justicemilk. What's your opinion on the necessity of shields, shield passives, and endurance charges? I'm currently 57, running a quiver and no endurance charges. Doing okay, low health aside, but I'm wondering if I should start tweaking the build for those.
Thanks for all the replies. This build is so much fun and I'm glad everyone is liking it so much! And big ups for Prpnnightmare to swing by!

As for the low health issue, I haven't had real problems with it yet, but I can see where you're all coming from. Rainku has posted a health version he is running. It isn't as manly, that's my only real comment.

Shield and Shield Passives are awesome in my opinion. Once you get into merc, I feel like a lot of my defense comes from those stats.

I've tried immortal some, and it is lots of fun and makes a lot of things even more trivial. It also can sometimes help with desync and saving yourself. I really hope they can sort out the desync issue just a little bit. I haven't died to it in a long while, but it can be really stressful.
I took a look at Melee Splash for hardcore purposes, mostly mathematically and from friends that are doing Melee Splash builds.

After looking through the Melee Splash stuff, for Hardcore I can say this:
Infernal Blow Melee Splash has a very big downside with Elemental Reflect. I can easily do 5k+ elemental damage on a single mob. After talking to a buddy that has a similar build, but with a sword - they have the same issue. They're absolutely useless on Elemental Reflect maps and they're a level 89 or so Marauder.
You would really chunk your HP down hard on just regular elemental reflect - let's not even talk about -max or double stacked elemental reflect (Map mod + Rare mob)

Infernal Blow is still strong though, and I would use it for single target to help people with bosses because it hits HARD. Bosses get decimated.

But after watching my buddy Supernico doing a Dominating Blow build, I must say that a Dominating Blow Melee Splash build would be INCREDIBLE for Hardcore. Mind you, blood magic support or passive is a requirement at that point as the mana cost on Dominating Blow is massive. I would have

Immortal Call trivializes things so much though, glad you see that :) It makes physical reflect nonexistant which means you can scale your physical damage as much as you want. If you have the ability to keep it up constantly, Iron Reflexes also becomes sort of useless because you don't need armour anymore.

The only issue is resistances. Chaos Damage hurts sooooooo much.

In other news, Increased Melee Physical Damage could work well with Facebreakers in the 11.1 patch as this is the internal change to damage, and Mark_GGG said in a post that the way melee physical damage works right now is inconsistent with the rest of the game and perhaps no longer fits it's current mechanic anymore. But to be completely honest... Do we even need that damage? I mean, really, hah.
