Iron Will probably won't be the support for me, should be outclassed by Faster Projectiles which is only 10% more mana so that should be manageable. And yeah, more like 85 for that one. Went by the build one last time whilst writing that post and figured I might as well add a few more nodes :P I've just gone by the Mara area so many times by now. Don't really like the hassle of ES builds so basically all my characters visit that area at some point, felt like doing something different. At level 25 so far this evening and having a lot of fun. EK has a nice whack to it, a bit of that melee feeling without all the downsides that come with it. Rushing Mana Geyser first thing seems to have been smart and then up to Mental Acuity. Decent enough life nodes for normal, good bit of projectile damage and best of all enough int to level up my Clarity gem as I go so my mana stays manageable. " I intend on using faster projectiles as well, its a really nice support for EK, if i manage to get enough mana regen to sustain EK, it shouldnt be too hard to do this since i also get a lot of reduced mana passives That sounds like a good plan, just a pretty important tip, you should plan on getting unwavering stance before or when you are in merciless ledge, its very important to get it at that point, because mobs and especially archers can stun you pretty hard. The rest sounds very good, pick life as you need it, dont forget about armor as well. The build you have in mind should work very well, its a neat alternative to this one, slightly less life, but more mana in the lower levels and i think its easier to run it in the lower levels than mine because of all the mana you get at that point, you also get 24% extra projectile damage. Unfortunately that ended rather sooner than expected.
I ran into one of those Discharge Flicker strikers that seems to have been watching Kripp's stream. Extra damage and power charge on hit mods resulted in a constant stream of discharges and flicker strikes that made short work of my character. Ah well, it was a fun experiment. I did come to the conclusion though, even before dying, that you probably made a smart move not going up. From the end of act 2 onwards I felt I'd really have benefited much more from the nodes in between the Ranger and Duelist trees. Alright, I'm playing this in onslaught, I'm going for a blood magic gem variation though.
Edit: Going really well right now, finally picked up a mana leech gem so I should be able to kill something.. I'm at the end of act3 normal, absolutely no close calls, 65% damage reduction, 871 life, around 150 dps only though. Bought this already for 1 chaos, no idea how much it's actually worth on onslaught, didn't seem like a ripoff so I took it. Goddamn, getting enough sockets for this is hard as hell.
