Question about the time zones. Wiki insists New Zealand is +12 GMT whereas I'm at +2GMT. However, the time zone converter is saying NZ 12:00 = my 3:00. Which of the two should I trust?

It seems like one of the countries is observing daylight savings time. I think the converter is correct as it takes DST into account.

Edit: I think you probably live in Greece where you are observing DST.

Does anyone have a realistic expectation of how far someone will get in these 2 weeks ? Just curious to see what everyone's guess as to what difficulty/zone/lvl people will be at the end

Top 10 easily level 70+
IGN @dime
It is likely that soon after the race league, Open Beta will begin. They said mid-August which mean the soonest, one week after the league.

So I see ok, credits for top players that would benefit them even in open beta, but some "random currency items to be given to players who reach certain levels" which likely got deleted one week after would not convincing enough for me to put much time into the league.

Hope to see some change in this matter. I suggest something like an extra stash for player who reach a certain level (50 for example) would be better.

Why would you even play the game then until open beta begins?
I like these events because they give some variety, the rewards don't really matter for the reasons you named, except for the amulet and point reward of course.

I doubt this. They announced some more patches (2 or 3 major ones) to come before Open Beta, with an average time of ~3weeks between them each (beside the last one). We have a delay from that schedule of ~4 weeks with just the 0.9.11 patch...
It will really need a very well ongoing to keep the possibility of OB start at the end of august at all.

Chris said there would be an announcement regarding open beta very soon :D

I'm sure he said recently they are still going for mid August, maybe the next few patches will come out quickly :D here is hoping.

To all the people wanting a daily hour cap. Think of this:

When the game gets released there will be ladder races as well. I don't know how long the ladder periods will be, but there will be ladder races and these will not have any kind of daily hour cap (assuming we speak of the same method that diablo 2 used for its ladder).

So this 2 week ladder race is kind of a stress test to see how fast people can get in such a race and to make improvements to other classes if they lack what it needs to keep up with the other classes that are faster.

Personally I do think that certain playstyles are simply slower than others, while being saver on the other hand.
An example would be the summoner - slow but safe, the archer - fast but risky, the witch - depends on the element and so on...

It's HC after all, characters can and will die. I would also not judge the OP classes by the top ten. For me that is just an indicator of who has the most time.

Yes 2 weeks with no daily time cap is not fair for everyone. But it will be like this in the release ladder too. People who have more time will always get further than others in a video game.
