BTW, I love the stats on your site, yours inspired me to do something better with mine.
As you can see on our website, we measure that in 5 minute periods. It is based on experience gains, so if you stayed in town 20 minutes it says you were inactive/offline by that time.

Ps. We plan to release english version of this stats soon.

I use your site also a lot since I see you first linking it, very nice! And sweet to hear you will make a translated version, some names are hard to guess even with some basic russian knowlegde from the very past... ^^

One thing I noticed and am wondering about:
one of my race chars (two_arrows) is sometimes not shown in my account at all, and if its listed, then with very wrong stats as a member of legacy league. When I click the char itself from there (or amke a search for it), it shows its correct graphs with also the correct league assignment -
no idea about the reason...

I do find it interesting the amount of people who complain about lag and game mechanic issues causing their deaths yet some players like IMDisappoint manage to consistently perform and never winge about these issues.

If he died and complained, I think it would hold a lot more weight.

It's a possibility that he has a good internet connection and a computer setup that works perfectly with PoE, which are things not everyone has access to.

This might be true as my latency is pretty good and my computer was mid-top end about two years ago. However, I do still desync and run into weird issues from time to time too such as the one where enemies can hit you after you've entered an area transition. Those issues have been around for longer than I have been (almost a year now!), and I've learned to deal with them mostly through avoidance or through the use of non-targeted AoE skills (sweep, ice nova).
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

I feel like I came to the conclusion a long time ago that even people with good computers and low ping are complaining as often as those with higher pings.

@Skunk That's a really unfortunate ping, maybe you have a line fault or just some bad connection. I have a normal ADSL connection with orcon and get a pretty consistent 160-180 ping.

Yeah, I live in Nelson and there's a fair bit of copper around these parts still, so I think it's par for here unfortunately. Most pings of NZ sites get about 50ms for me, and POE is usually about 250ms. I'm also with Telecom (yes, I know, but out of my control at the moment unfortunately) so it's just not even worth the infuriation that would result from a phone call! I'll just cling onto hope that there'll one day be an NZ server, and persist until then. :D

I'll probably be tempted to have another shot at the race anyway, I was just in a huff as my latest death was from a client crash which has never really happened to me before.

I'm not sure how or why the spikes / mob teleporting / mob stops moving but still attacks happen, but I can assure you that this occurs quite frequently. Also i would call it the hardest part or the game, and consequently the single most game breaking feature.

Either way though it's beta and why we are here. I would just rather see it fixed before OB, or any event with decent prizes for that matter. Losing to something other than your lack of skill is a major downer.

RIP ShinyLemon, level 56 duelist with every single point spent into a defensive passive. He thought it'd be a good idea to use a portal while at 60% and near a rare mob.

The punchline?
He could have tanked that rare mob indefinitely if he had used a flask but fighting at 0 mana did not sound fun.

Thats when you evade the rare mob long enough to regen enough mana to pop phaserun and get outta there to a safe enough spot to portal out. I learned that the hard way as well though... Never again will I make that mistake.
There was no safe spot to portal out :(
That was the start of the level 2 dungeon, a rare and a unique mob were in the 2 nearest rooms. Exit via door to level 1->death, run in random direction with phase run->almost certain death as well.

Sucks dude, where did you die?
I rarely get any lag and have yet to ever have it crash. The only thing ive had happen was a zone went all artifact on me, but a relog fixed that. The only lag I have is acceptable, at most I might get a 2-3 second lag spike once every hour or two. My roommates experience is identical while his computer is entirely diff hardware.

D2/d3/StarCraft/any online game has occasional lag spikes just like poe. GGG can only fix it on their end. Any nodes along the way, they can only request the nodes to help, but the nodes are not required.

As far as hw, I'm running an Asus laptop with an AMD a6-3400 quad-core unganged mode (1.4ghz over clocked to 3.2ghz), 8gb DDR over clocked to 1600, 7500rpm bare drive, and an AMD 6650 running crossfire with the APU. The game does not detect the 6650, but I'm running max settings no problem (aa & AF maxed) with at least 50fps or more. My laptop is nowhere near top end either.

Are the people having issues running Intel?
