Time Capsule Thread: Closed Beta
The best memory I will always have about this game was how it caught me by surprise. I only read about it on a forum I frequent during its stress test weekend. A new franchise from a group of developers I've never heard of, and it felt like an AAA title once I got a couple hours of game play down. I did not expected it.
This game is part fan funded and so I'm grateful to all the people who contributed. I have high hopes for fan-backed projects and so I do hope this will be a success. I am one of those who believed that we may increasingly depend on smaller developers for great titles judging by the way mainstream gaming is changing. The fan's support thus far is probably the best testament to how good this project is at the moment and so I have high hopes for it. I hope the dev. will continue doing what they do, continue adding content and stuff, and I could see myself continuously supporting this project for a long time. Just gonna leave my mark here, because I feel this thread is a pretty cool idea, as far as the Closed Beta experience is concerned.
The first ARPG that I played for a decent quantity of time was Titan Quest, and I didn't even really play it that long. Perhaps 1-2 days of game time, at most. I played Diablo 2 for a little bit, not even finishing the first difficulty, because I felt the game was not a challenge in the slightest in the first difficulty. Path of Exile resolved this problem for me, as mobs at all points in the game are dangerous and rather difficult to facetank effectively (particularly bosses. I'm looking at you Brutus). So, upon finding out about this game, I registered for the forums and began the hunt for my key. After spending a week or two on the forum, posting somewhat actively, someone was kind enough to send me a key. I received the key on May 24, 2012 and only played the game for a couple of weeks at the time, due to various reasons (minion AI and having no friends to play with). Towards the end of November of 2012, I received two friend invites, solving one of the two issues that I had with the game, and minion AI had been fixed (at least somewhat), so I gave the game a shot in a group with my friends. Although, due to holidays, they didn't have a whole lot of time to play, I got close enough to end-game to experience a handful of the lower level maps and craft a few mediocre builds that weren't too successful. However, I thoroughly enjoy playing the game and plan to play it for years to come. I also hope to one day work for Grinding Gear Games, if at all possible, seeing as how my major is Computer Science and they will obviously need more employees for how successful the game is going to be. ;D That's just a dream, and we'll see what the future holds, but Closed Beta has been a great experience for me, providing me with a decent amount of information about the game that I'll use in Open Beta to have an even better experience, hopefully. Thanks for everything guys and a special thanks to Grinding Gear Games for their amazing game. Last edited by Korruption16#0386 on Jan 23, 2013, 1:19:59 PM

The Closed Beta Time Capsule is now sealed. I will start an Open Beta Time Capsule as well.
Thanks to all who posted. If you want to ressurect this to keep it from being deleted please do so, as I will NOT take care of this thread due to personal reasons in the future. I entrust this time capsule to anyone willing to keep it alive. Thanks Grinding Gear Games, to Chris, Rory and all the first forerunners of the game and company. Upon final release of this game, I hope someone will revive this thread for a while for all to see. Alma 48:17
