Item Allocation Specifics

Really taking steps in a good direction here, as seems to happen a lot on PoE, which in turn is what makes it the best & most playable game.

Will give more feedback after the patch and I've actually experienced all the new loot modes.

But, it looks very very sweet.

Part of me is happy. Part of me is just thinking about how this should have been present at OB launch.

hmm with permanent allocation, what if the player that the item is allocated to doesn't want the item and doesn't pick it up? Does that mean nobody can pick it up?

Finally. Thanks.for.this
Great changes. However I'm with the others that all maps should drop to maker. And that 6 socket items should be added as valuable.
Ultra-Dislike.

Very disappointed that you gave in for the casuals. Very, very disappointed.

Won't be playing for a week now to boycott this decision. (Not that anyone cares, but still)

Is this the start of the slippery slope for GGG that they've been warned about? Only time will tell...

I know this, that's why his answer was somewhat unclear. He used the generic term "level" instead of level requirement or item level. Also there are no items with level 75 requirement so it's still unclear what he means exactly.

From the Wiki:
"This is not to be confused with the level requirement on a piece of equipment, or the level of a normal item, which are both separate statistics."

Which suggests that there is something other than just item level and level req in play. Probably tiers based on the area level. This makes sense because without some 3rd stat, there's no reason a high end base type couldn't drop in a low lvl area with a low item level.

EDIT: Also, if level req were based on area level, than low items would never drop in high areas.

When Chris stated "base types of the level of your world area or higher.." I figured he was talking about the level of the item TYPE such as a Ranger bow being level 60. If I have this correct, for example on a Dried Lake map, being a level 66 area, a blue or white Maraketh (lvl 62) or Spine bow (lvl 64) with 3 or less sockets would not be allocated, while and Imperial Bow, being lvl 68, would.

??? Is that correct?

This is a great change for those, "complain forever until we get something changed then stick around for a weeks after and leave" types. People that want this don't really know what they are doing to the game.

This change goes against the spirit of the game entirely. There is nothing more killjoy in a loot based game than automatic loot distribution.

This.

And have you also noticed that 99% of the casual complainers and whiners have donated absolutely ZERO dollars/euros/we for GGG and yet they are the ones who are apparently getting to make the decisions here.

I fucking said this would happen. It always does. Humans never fucking change.

^ Whats a casual anyway? I guess its now a buzzword to talk down to anyone who doesn't agree with you on what makes the game fun or challenging?

The zero dollars comment is just wrong. Also donating more doesn't give your opinion more weight.

But we do care. Oh wait, no we don't. It's a goddamn OPTION, mr. non-casual. An option which does NOT make the game any easier or harder, it just controls the "cutthroat-ness" of item allocation.

For someone complaining about GGG caving in to the casuals you sure know how to QQ like one.
