You sound as if you're speaking from a highly leveled up character. What about fresh new ones (1-40ish?)

I've already forgotten what has prompted this silly discussion. The goal here is to argue that another's opinion is wrong, or what?

Its not really about opinions but its more about play style.

I keep reading about these Ranged players not being to pick up drops because there are all these melee classes around drops blocking them constantly.

Is this what you are seeing? And if ranged clases have it so bad why do so many ranged builds counter that arguement constantly with l2p.

I would like to see a video of these ranged players playing who complain about not getting drops. I bet in 3 seconds the real problems would surface.

It's currently a pseudo-FFA loot system. There is no "my". However, I understand your concern.

to make this less self-centering, it can read:

"Getting tired of ALL the loot getting jacked. Guess us slow people not hardcore enough."

This brings up an interesting thought: I've always been a slow thinker, and so are my friends. We've even made guilds named "Old and Slow" in other games. It's probably why I favor minion master builds; it doesn't take much in the way of twitch reflexes to stand back while minions do all the in-your-face fighting. And it's why we absolutely won't play a game without instanced loot.

The sad fact is, our slowness is a disability. It's the way we're built and there's nothing we can do to fix it. Does GGG really want to discriminate against it? Would GGG deliberately design PoE with a color scheme that gives the colorblind a major disadvantage? Or add flashing lights to trigger epileptic seizures? Or make quest text audio-only so the deaf can't play at all?

Of course GGG can't cater to every disability. It's probably impossible to make PoE playable by the blind, for example. But it's not that much trouble to add an instanced loot option for us slow folks, and judging by the amount of discussion about loot, it's a pretty good guess that there are enough of us to warrant it.

How about it, GGG? Have a heart! Instanced loot for the speed-challenged, please!

I personally don't know how your problems couldn't be solved by playing alone or with the rest of your slow friends. But, in reality a game should never change core game mechanics just to cater to disabled players. Even tho im not sure what your disablity is.

But at this point, GGG already is trying to cater to every player complaining about every aspect of loot. So, might as well toss you a bone aswell.

Im not sure why they just don't add instanced loot in the 1st place. SInce thats what everyone seems to really want.

You and I consider loot behavior differently. I don't believe changing the way we loot to be a big deal. So long as I get loot, I am good.

As far as changing/patching goes, isn't that what a lot of games do now? Major updates release and things change. Maybe not in AAA titles, but definitely in indie titles and games that are F2P or MMO'ish in some way or fashion.

To be honest, I welcome change most of the time. The only time it hurts the game (for me, that is), is when something has been removed from the game. FFA shouldn't have been removed in my opinion and instead I would've rather seen additional loot method(s).

Like I've said before, I never considered PoE "Hardcore". If they wanted a game dedicated to ONLY the hardcore fans, then I honestly don't understand the existence of default league.

I see people are still threatened by loot options. So sad.
I don't understand why this is even an issue.

Just make it so that party leader sets loot-rule upon party creation. Those that want to play FFA can go ahead, those that prefer to play with designated loot can do so, don't like the loot rules in your group? Form your own group or join another.

End of story. Gosh >.>;

Gosh is right, it is a big deal.

If you join public games, this change is likely to VASTLY change the pace, how you play, how you build your character, decisions about placement in combat, and if and how you make friends in game.

FFA loot only works as a game mechanic if its unavoidable, once you can just 'opt out' then it is just added difficulty that most people will avoid.

Who is going to choose a FFA public game? answer: only people wtih very fast run speed that are confident they can loot faster then most everyone else.

So, if you like the game fast pace with everyone paying attention and up front but also like to share and play cooperatively you will be out of luck. Unless GGG does something to incentivize people to use modes other than slowest timer, many of us predict it will be the only choice.
There is nothing wrong with the loot system, even on my ranger I can still get MY drops if I'm actually paying attention.
I keep hearing about "The Real World" is that an expansion or something ??

You know what, this thread should just get locked. It's just a troll nest, now.

Pace? Yes, GGG has admitted that. How you play? Maybe, but fact is this is how people WANT to play. How you build? Are you nuts? How would they change their build? Movespeed is always in high demand, regardless of looting. Decisions about placement in combat? You mean they might actually care about positioning properly to optimize their damage output and survivability instead of running around like a moron with a deathwish because something shiny might drop IF the monster dies? How you make friends in game? You mean you might actually leave games on friendly terms with people instead of having them devolve into bitchfests of people complaining about not getting any loot or someone taking someone else's drop?

False premise. FFA isn't harder, it's just different.

False. People will choose FFA based on personal preference.

False. If all the games are games with long timers, then you have the choice of making an FFA game.
