Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

Thats why i suggested a delayed Loot, instead of dropping loot/chance for loot as soon as one enemy out of many dies, u could delay that and drop all the loot a few seconds after the fight is done.
That should also help ranged classes to get close to a boss befor the loot drops etc.

Ok the problem though is that when is the combat done. All the mosters could be dead, but then someone off in the distance starts killing another monster. It would make clearing areas take longer because you would have to wait so that everyone is out of combat for awhile.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.

This just doesn't sound fun. When I kill a monster I want the immediate feedback and satisfaction of seeing loot drop. It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something.

True. There are plenty of times where players get spread out and combat is going from one group of monsters to the next with no real interruption.

If you want a delay loot, the only way I see is that good loots remain on corpse. We can see anything like "Ghoatman Corpse" pressing alt. No loot when in combats or when a mobs are <15 feet away. Anybody can clic on the corpse, loot drops and goes like it's actual system.
Ofcourse the in Combat would have to be counted for a single player individual, not as a party.

If Player 1 fights of 5 Monster, and a friends 10meters away another three, both would have there own combat and would not have to wait for the other to finish.

If one player is in fight with 7 Monster and another comes by and attacks one, he is in combat with the same 7 of them aswell.

And you thought the other system would be complicated and difficult to code . . .

guess ur right, it might be just as much work to program.

But i guess it would still need less work to balance it out.

There is no easy code system.. We should have a word from the developers about what direction they planing to go. We only know they want a coat-troath loot system. Maybe they will stay with the actual system, maybe they will change a little thing. Please developers, tell us if you planing to change something! :)

Are you searching for one little thing to add to your system to make it perfect? or maybe change it all?

Maybe they just want brain storming from players, then they will update their systems to satisfy players. Or maybe they just want us to discuss the game till we waiting for beta. :)
I agree a little more feedback and direction would be nice. There have been a whole lot of ideas put forward and discussed.

Discussions like these are like sifting sand for diamonds.... mostly it's sand, or things they've discussed already. They may or may not still be waiting to see if the collective intelligence craps out something useful and unique.
