Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
This thread has no relevance to devs, so points or whatever are useless.
Walls of text are ok because the thoughts here are quite often sophisticated and not easy to explain. |

Well there world is how the world is.
There will always be cheaters, ninjas, trolls. But still we handle it. I am sure someone will think of a good idea ,but if no then - oh well the system they have now is pretty good. Repent! That's what i'm talking about!

" I'm sorry your attention span is so short that you can't read a few paragraphs. This isn't about the ideas. This isn't for the devs. This isn't for PoE. I don't think (or at least I hope) anyone here expects PoE to be remade in their image. At the core this is just something to do to waste time while we wait for the game. That's all. If we weren't writing and talking here then our interest in PoE would drop quickly. Forum Sheriff

" Sorry. I didn't mean that to come across as angry. I have more important things to get angry over than a game. Forum Sheriff

Back on topic...
I find Zirfith's post on page 23 very interesting. The effectiveness thingo could be used to determine the amount of radiation, and radiation could be worked off by gaining xp, like the way flasks refill. Dare I say the inventory itself is an item (bag), with modififers like increased holding capacity, larger stack sizes, and faster radiation decay? No, I wouldn't dare say that hehe. |

these points ideas sounds nice, but do we realy need to be that detailed?
I believe that this would be way to much work programing and testing it to find a good balance for it, and in the end there would still be ppl doing the same stuff as on a pure FFA. (or kind of) For me there is only one thing that realy bothers me with the standart FFA system. I want to focus on a fight while it is going, and dont want to be forced looking for loot at the same time. Thats why i suggested a delayed Loot, instead of dropping loot/chance for loot as soon as one enemy out of many dies, u could delay that and drop all the loot a few seconds after the fight is done. That should also help ranged classes to get close to a boss befor the loot drops etc. |
