As long as you are not implying that you can buy an item without the owner present. I think the idea of in-game player shops is a good idea.

I don't really see why this would matter if the player were present or not? "Oh no! someone sold an item without being in game"

I think they should have a fee perhaps in which the merchant takes a cut of the profits and so when you revisit you have the option to collect whatever currency was traded. The merchant would essentially charge a fee to relinquish the orbs you wish to collect. So that some players may prefer to sell over trade chat and others may prefer to sell via vendor. The fee would be something like 10% value based on some preset ratios. This would also require GGG to have vendor buy options for every orb which I think needs to happen because i'm tired of the price changes each week with players.
with vendor shops ,
it would be the war of the undercutting, people would have to keep pricing competitively to get their item sold and get some currency floating. If some genious decides his crappy belt is worth in exalt's he would know for sure even days/ weeks / months that his item isnt getting sold.
These would motivate people to price competively since they are indeed getting things sold.

Players can enjoy the real aspect of the game hunting and getting good loot ( disposing 95% of crap gold loot ) and vending the quality stuff.

Ofcourse the very high end loot will always be in the forums for best offers and bids.

I personally don't have a solution, but I do share in some of the frustration. Searching thru the forum shops, finding items you might want to buy, then trying to arrange a time w/the seller seems to be a bit of a hassle. Especially with the varying time zones, since players all over the globe are buying/selling items. Trade chat tends to be a joke, as its always so busy it scrolls almost non stop. (and some of the prices are just outrageous)

I do agree that some sort of player vendor/trading system could be implemented. Maybe even a 'mailing' system, pay on delivery. Perhaps some sort of 'one time purchase' micro-transaction purchase, to be able to sell/buy items on a player vendor system...Let me be clear, NOT using real money to buy items, but a one time fee to allow you to use an auction house.

I dunno, for all I know GGG may already be doing something about this, i just dont have time to search hundreds of threads :)

I agree that we need a trading system that doesn't require both players to be online at the same time.

the way you are interpreting it , leaves a huge scope for all kinds of ugly, its a mishap waiting to happen... Ive Seen similar systems and let me tell you there is waaaay to much margin for abuse , and errors.

I detest the trade system---Some idea's

care to..explain what went wrong with those situations?

Because I'm not talking about what "I" would like. I'm talking about what we are GOING to get. You would be the first I've seen that actually dislikes the idea. I'd like to hear how incorporating what we'er about to incorporate is going to cause trouble.
There's a fraction of players who like consistency and predictability: killing boss X will yield item Y.

This game really isn't for people like that.

This game is for people who'll do the same area over and again because they know..., a Mirror can drop anywhere, anytime. - CharanJaydemyr
i have to agree. the trade system in this game is pretty damn fail. the idea that i have to go to another website. to search for items for sale in a game is just flat out crazy. then to add on top of it all both players have to be online at the same time and in the same zone. most the time on the other site stuff is posted with no buy out. so when you do contact the seller. and he tells you the price he wants you have no idea if your getting jacked or not. but then again i guess some people enjoy fleecing the hell out of new people.

its sad that this game is pretty much the same as every other game. dont make stuff yourself its better to just save your coin and buy it from some body else. cause the crafting doesnt work. and unless you have back armor if you run out of currency you can literally jack your character.

sounds like a genuine idea.
let´s call it an auction house!

there are like 500 other games that have a

BROKER
Auction House
Trading Post

Or how ever you wanna call it.........

PoE has no trading system because it takes alot of server space and work....

Work, yes. Server space, no. Every item could be represented with a short string of data that wouldn't take even anywhere near a KB per item. The trading could even be held on a separate server accessible from the "trading post" if necessary. That could make the connectivity to it front-end only and would not impact the actual play server.
