A Guide to Successfully using poe.xyz.is

wasn't this site known to contain certain elements, that helped certain people hack your account?

I suggest all you guys avoid using 3rd-party sites altogether.
especially of the RMT kind, but also pages like this one, that can contain malicious code or plant spyware and tracking cookies belonging to god-knows-who.

and even if you decided to take the risk and use 3rd party sites, the moment something asks you for your IGN, user-email etc' - get the hell out of there!

GGG would do well if they improve the in-game trade chat and actually make it usable, so all these dubious pages cease to exist.

poe.xyz.is is faster and has more features. If you don't need them poexplorer is just as fine.

I just don't know how I'm supposed to have any idea what to offer on stuff. When I think some random item should be a few chaos orbs they will be like no price is 4 exalts, it's like what how?

It just searches the forums for you. You don't even have to be logged in. And I never heard of someone getting hacked because of this site.

I have the same problem and don't like to spend hours to figure out a good price. As much as I appreciate OP's effords, it does not help much people like us. To be honest, if I had a slightest idea of "what I will pay for an item and what the item is worth", then the rest would be fairly obvious. Is there a specific place on forum where I could ask people for an advice regarding the price of certain item?

I often had people messaging me about buying my character's gear when it was explicitly stated that it wasn't for sell, only for trade for an upgrade. In the end I took out that section.
Also some people messaged me an offer higher than the buyout I had listed. It leads me to think people don't even read the sale thread and just send a message to the IGN they found listed on poe.xyz.

Thus, your tip isn't needed. Knowing that XYZ exists, don't list your gear if you aren't willing to actually sell it. There is a showcase forum for that.

My tip for using the website to shop is always search buyers that are online only.

Otherwise you are wasting your time when the seller is not even online to bargain with him/her.
