Dat life <3 and resists <3

Yes. The point of using corrupted purity gems is b/c with lvl 21 purity of fire/lightning +2 levels from alphas howl, you get an additional +1 max resist because your aura becomes level 23. So we will have 80 max resist for all 3 elements. +5 cold from AA.

This build is still a fair ways from being perfect when keeping matches with Atziri in mind. For now it is the tankiest build for all other game content and end game maps even with the low health pool. I had to tweak it a bit to increase the seriously nerfed DPS in patch 1.1. So health had to suffer as I was really not seeing any movement on the HP bar at all. So I could afford to respec out of a few health nodes. It is now fairly balanced and the low health pool adds to some excitement cause you never know what is going to happen when you leap slam into a group of mobs with a rare in the middle. And what a bliss when you see gore guts and shit just splatter all over the place haha! Such massively risky gameplay but in the end Poe is all about having fun.

I now cheat with flasks! And what a rush when they run out!

Yeah, the old tactic of 1400 es per block with lower life worked wonders until bosses like Dom and Queen 4tits. It still works, all you have to do is skip those bosses. And to be quite honest, I am not sure if my proposed changes will actually be better. I really think so, but it will require testing before I am sure of it. 80 max resists and an extra 1.5k hp for the price of 800 or so less es on block seems like it will pay off. After all, I will still get around 400 es per block and now should HOPEFULLY not get 1 shot by aforementioned bosses. Flasks plus timely IC should make it so I only have to survive 10% of the damage. Sounds doable right? >.> <.<

HAHA made me laugh harder than it should. Yeah it will be doable. We won't rest till we can go afk with Atziri :P:P:P:P:P:P
yeah , the ic duration is dependent on your skill level and how fast/well you are able to time manage it.

A lot of times in the very hard boss fights i find myself in situation where there aren't enough scrub mobs to keep the block /es up quickly enough.

Dragon, I am not arguing that any particular path is better or that i do not want to follow your direction. I am trying to gain an understanding on what would work out best given the difference in real life gaming skills..

two people might have same gear same stats/char but they would perform very differently in a same boss fight given their gameplay /reaction times and skills.

dom and his light of divinity is face/tankable now with the patch changes :) and shock.

The armor is low, but a shift in tactics is needed for bosses like atziri/dominus. The ES gained from AA needs to become a bonus rather than something we rely on. Due to bad RNG streaks, I feel that higher HP and max resists is the way to go. The ES gained from AA will just be icing on the cake.

The build is gone from builder, any chance to post it again ?

Poebuilder seems to be broken atm. As well as the poe site. I cannot access the passive tree right now. As soon as I am able, I will post. Once I am sure of the best build, I will also update the guide. For now, I am pretty unsure that my proposed changes will work. I have been noticing that my armor is too low but I dislike the idea of sacrificing hp to get more.

The problem is, do I build around insane bosses like dom and atziri? Or do I build around the other 99.9% of the game and just skip those bosses? I had planned to build so that I could potentially conquer atziri, but I REALLY don't like the fact that my es on block will not keep my hp intact on certain mobs.

So, TLDR; I have lots more testing to do, and don't really know which path to take atm.

This is my current build that I am testing. I can't link my gear right now since the site won't let me. But at least you can see the build for now. Once again, PLEASE note that I do NOT know if this build is optimal right now. I changed tactics pretty drastically and have no idea if it was worth it.

Sadly, one of the options I am pondering is dropping hatred for grace, and the 4 axe dmg + life clusters and 2 hp passives to pick up the body and soul cluster. IF I go that route, it will drop my cyclone dps to about 22k. But my sub 9K armor has me pretty worried.

I decided to spend a few regrets. Here is what happened.

BEFORE
Build

  • 34k cyclone dps

  • 8528 armor - 908 ES - 341 ES on block

  • 5651 hp

  • Hatred - Purity of Fire - Purity of Lightning - Tempest Shield

AFTER
Build

  • 21.5k cyclone dps

  • 17699 armor - 1089 ES - 707 ES on block

  • 5266 hp

  • Grace - Purity of Fire - Purity of Lightning - Tempest Shield

The really depressing part about the dps is, it is with Melee Damage on Full Life gem. So there are times when that gem won't work. I.E. chaos dmg maps, or anytime your are taking chaos dmg, or when you are not at full life. When this happens, the dps drops to a pathetic 14.8k

Without hatred, the dps of this build is just... bad. For now, I am going to test the 2nd build but using hatred instead of grace. This gives me 30.5k dps but only 10.3k armor and 415 es on block. I think I really ONLY want to reach the threshold that allows my hp bar to remain untouched when standing in a pack of mobs, and then focus on HP/dps.

I'll keep updating.

edit: Well, my dream of hitting 6k hp does not seem like it will come true. Playing with this new build and using hatred instead of grace feels SO much better than the first build I tried. And the more maps I run, the more I come to understand just how OP tempest shield linked to curse on hit/warlords truly is! Free leech on block is amazing.
