This tank is really strong. I'm playing it on ambush and i can do all maps with any mods (happens that i die if i play careless with really hard mods).
The only problem is that without a legacy soul taker the dps is not enought to kill atziri. I didn't find yet a partner with high dps to do it (Vaals are a joke with this build and the other 3 boss are not that hard..just have to keep attention to degen areas and corrupting blood). My dps in tooltoip is 9986.3 so since the cyclone dps is x2 almost 20k. The current gear is: Looking for better rings and gloves also if they are already pretty good, but on ambush there are not many good offers. Last edited by manu91xd on May 30, 2014, 10:36:58 AM

Hi Dragon, very awesome build for a marauder!
I'm pretty tempted to go with this build(Facetanking things is pretty sick), but I've only started playing a few days ago(Couple or three days at max). So yeah, I'm still pretty much a newb(even though I've read a ton of stuff on the game). But those gear prices are way above what I can afford at the moment... Should I just roll a different build, or can your build be playable to a noob? |

Yeah, over time this build has gotten more and more expensive. Although I DO point out that when I started this guide my gear was nothing like it is today and I still had great success. If you can manage to get your hands on a 6L, Aegis Aurora, and Stone of Lazwar you can do quite well. But really, stone of laz is probably the only thing you will need. The passive tree allows you to build a very tanky block char. What the powerful and expensive uniques do is allow you to spend passive points elsewhere. I.E. with soultaker you would not need to run a BM gem and subsequently no longer NEED high life regeneration from the passive tree. What Aegis Aurora offers is akin to high life regen also. The only thing you really can't get much of from the talent tree is spell block. Which is why stone of lazwar is very important to the majority of block builds. If you rummage through some of my older videos, you can see they were made over a year ago and did NOT have the gear you see me with today. And yet, I was able to clear just about any map. So TLDR; Yes, you can do this build with minimal gear IF your expectations are where they should be. Meaning, you cannot compare this build with only Aegis and Stone of Lazwar to my current mara videos. It is not a fair comparison. This video is a Lunaris 3 to Piety run to show the clearing speed. This video is old. I made it when I wrote this guide and had less than perfect gear. Nevertheless, it shows exactly what your asking. Can you do well without all the expensive gear? See for yourself. Keep in mind that some game mechanics have changed since this video. Hp for example. If you want to see some of my gear you can skip to the end of the video after piety. I don't actually highlight all of the gear, but you can see that the majority of what I am wearing is rare items. Best of luck to you! -Dragon DISCLAIMER! So, how do we combat the corrupted blood boss just after the double Vaals on the way to Atziri? I'm running out of flasks in this match. Has anyone got through with this build?

Ye i did it.
Kill first the cycloner. It will be really long but just keep running avoiding degen areas and his hits when he cyclone. Ofc you'll need many remove bleeding potions. After that the best solution is to kill the archer then the other melee guy. You can easily facetank them (usually with other more squishy builds is better to start from the archer). Btw you'll have problems at atziri not because she kills you but because at the regen phase you won't be able (or at least i wasn't with a non legacy almost perfect soul taker and all 20/20 gems) to kill all the ads so she will heal herself to full life. Maybe with infernal blow it wil be possible thx to more aoe. I didn't try it since i sold my gear. Which is more damage on the following gems when you corrupt them?
1] Added Fire Damage - 20/23 or 21/20 Can't figure out if 17% incr fire damage is better than 40% phys dmg to fire dmg. 2] Melee Splash - 20/23 or 21/20 I believe in this case it is the level as qual will just increase the area? 3] Melee Phys Dmg - 20/23 or 21/20 Is the 11% more melle better than 50% increased melee? 4] WED - 20/23 or 21/20 Same goes for 11\60? 5] Infernal Blow - is the Level 6] Faster Attacks - Both seems to give 55% I don't care about AOE, just need to get the most damage from these gems as possible.
