Lucky are those who have/can afford a Legacy Aegis. For all the others: double your armor to regen more ES!
Now seriously, I think this 2% nerf is a hard kick in the balls, but somehow deserved. I spent a few minutes with the new skill tree yesterday and adjusted my build to 1.1. I have no idea if I took the best pathing and I didn't test it out yet as I am playing a new char in Ambush right now. But feel free to use this build as inspiration! Compared to the last version it lost some life regen and life% but gained some armor. IGN (Standard): UberFukker

Sorry gents,
I no longer have all the gear/gems properly put together so I cant effectively test anything on this build. On top of that, I don't really play poe much these days. I'm sure someone will figure it out and post it. Best of luck guys! -Dragon DISCLAIMER!

Hey guys, im playing with this build after patch and still pretty strong.
my passive tree: ( 104 points ) i have opted to drop out IR, as i dont have any evasion. Instead of IR, i got unwavering stance. With this patch we loose like 500-600 life on this build, but we get a lot of armour ( then yes, non legacy aegis is viable on this build, but im using a legacy one ) Please guys keep at yours minds, Soultaker is not a required item for this build, yes that is a great axe for melee builds, but u can aim for a 300+ pdps 1h axe as me. You just need Aegis Aurora, Stone of Lazhwar and Rainbowstrides ( if u dont have soultaker, u will need a 6L or BoR to get good dps ) And i think a legacy bringer of rain would be nice in this build. If u have one, u can drop out some block nodes and u dont have to use tempest shield. get more life or dps nodes ( thats ur choice ). if u choose to use BoR instead of a 6L... nice. ( remember, non legacy BoR is pretty shit, dont use that ) my gear:

Test it your self. This build isnt dead, still pretty strong, tank and fun to play. I can run a lot of 76+ maps. PS: Sorry for bad english. Last edited by leothetraveler on Mar 12, 2014, 6:43:37 PM

This build is indeed not dead at all, been playing it the last 5 months.
With careful planning and the right skill points according to your gear, you can still easily run 77 maps solo (haven't had the opportunity to run 78 maps with the new patch yet) It is true that you don't need a Soul Taker, but that axe is soo damn good, just because you don't have to stress about mana. The amulet, shoes and shield is a must tho, they are crucial as this build depends heavily on spell and damage block. Here is my tree. I have purposely decided to take some damage nodes because partying with 5 other players on a 77map, still takes a while to kill magic and rares. But the damage you take from them seems to have little effect on you. I have decided that the life regen nodes do not have a significant effect on my health regen, to my build they are not effective enough to waste a point on, so that frees up 2 skill points for me to use on life instead (which increases life regen anyways). Leather and steel (although 2 points wasted to get there) is a nice quality of life. My movenent speed with haste is 30% and without L&S, it is 18...what a diffs! I run 2 auras, Haste and Hatred. Gear.
Spoiler
Not the best...need more life, still running stuff that I picked up in maps (except for the uniques) and haven't started crafting gear for life, armour\es and triple res. Core Stats (with all auras on) Infernal Blow tooltip dps - 18886.6 and 21459 with Blood rage Attacks per second - 7.69 - 7.95 with BR Chance to hit - 100% 2% life leech with phys damage dealt seems to be enough to keep your health bar full at all times. Armour - 7148 Chance to block attacks - 71% Chance to block spells - 60% Fire res - 78 (83) Cold res - 77 (77) Light res - 77 (77) Chaos res - 5% With the last 10 points I'll probs start focussing on some more spell block and life. Please feel free to leave your comments and some advice on how to strengthen this build for my journey to l-100 :)
After some playing I could noticeably feel the absence of Unwavering Stance, especially on mobs dealing physical damage and shield charges. So I might spec out of some dmg nodes to catch US.
A friend and I started some crafting and this is what we are currently working on. Just..need..that..life..roll!! At least it brings my ES back up to acceptable levels. Then might still opt for AR\ES gloves and helm.
Nice armor mate! I found that US was not worth having back when it cost 4 points to get to it, but if it is only a 1 point deal, then GRAB it! I haven't messed around with this build in ages but with the recent nerf to leach and Vaal Pact, my new build has become to much of a glass cannon and can no longer out leech reflect maps with -max mods... another build ruined -_- but that't the nature of the beast apparently. I just might pick up where I left off on this build. Either that or re-up my subscription to WoW... ugh. -Dragon DISCLAIMER!
