[1.1.0] Facebreaker Cyclone in Endgame

Oh. I didn't lose any dps at all by speccing out of Blast Radius. That's why I said it was inefficient. You can keep your damage by speccing into attack speed nodes. When you said it was equivalent to Haste, I immediately knew how much % attack speed I needed to compensate.

Aha, I had already taken the 6% attack speed, and planning on taking the 4% once I get my defences back in order. Just wanted to have a look at the Blast Radius passive, but honestly, any positive increases to radius of Cyclone isn't immediately noticeable at all. Will probably end up respeccing away from it.
But on that note, it is a pretty 'substantial' DPS increase so if I ever find myself with 7 spare passive points (not too likely at this point, but I'm assuming level 90+ will eventually be attainable fairly easily ), I will probably spec into them.

Edit: Once I scrape together some more Orbs of Regret, I might put some dps scaling onto 1% area damage vs 1% attack speed. Might take a while though. ;P

For my gear, 1% attack speed is equivalent to 39 dps, while 1% area damage is 55 dps.
Probably mucked up some calculations but whatever, just an estimate.
So I have 13% worth of attack speed in 4 immediate points reach, while Blast Radius was 7 points and only about 100 more dps. In terms of pure point efficiency, you are better off getting the attack speed nodes around the duelist starting area than going for Blast Radius in the witch area, unless you really value minor increases in aoe range (which really isn't too noticeable).
On that note, the 6% attack speed node in the Duelist start is great bang for your buck in terms of dps.

Just a quick question for you guys, I currently have no quality on any of my gems, but I'm shopping around for them now since I have some spare currency. So my question is what quality gems should I get first? I only have enough currency for maybe 2-3 now the rest ill get later

Cyclone would be top priority, then Added Fire if you plan on using it (would be your 6th link), then Faster Attacks or Concentrated Effect.
I personally like quality on Concentrated Effect.
Yeah I think I want to get concentrate first just so I dont have to worry about whirling myself to death lol but I wasnt sure what to get next

I think I did ConcEffect, Cyclone, FasterAttacks, AddedFire in that order. ConcEffect for the reason you stated (to lower resource cost), then the others in order of dps effectiveness.

MeleePhys is a waste of currency to upgrade (for fb builds). Don't bother.

Interesting read.
Another handy technique I find useful is against possible desynced mobs or mobs that are hugging corners such as inside Lunaris cells. Normally it would be extremely difficult to attack those mobs with Cyclone because if you click outside of the structure, Cyclone won't activate due to advanced pathing (you'd have to exit the structure using the doorway for it to resume), and since you can't Cyclone target a mob itself in this situation, I normally run up to the mob and Cyclone away from it back to the center of the structure to ensure hits against it with minimal fuss.
On 7 Aura Shenanigans:

Since it doesn't look like GGG is going to fix this gear swapping thing any time soon, I might as well join the party. Went ahead and bought myself a Malachai's Simula.

And wallah! I can run Anger and Wrath now on top of my regular 5 auras without paying (that much) extra.

For a measly boost of 200-300dps (-_-"). Now up to 13.7k dps. The additional two auras don't add much to cyclone builds due to the 40% damage effectiveness. But it's free, so why not?

[Preparation]
1. Your fixed cost aura gems (Grace, Anger, Wrath) cannot be in your helmet. Let's say you have them in your boots.

2. Remove your helmet and see if your boots go red (insufficient stats). If they stay normal, skip to the Casting Auras part. If they turn red, read on.

2a. (Insufficient stats) While your helmet is removed, check how much stats you are missing. In my case I need 10 more Dex to equip my boots.

2b. (Insufficient stats) Unequip a slot which will not affect your stats further. Then equip anything with the required missing stats in that slot. e.g.,

[Casting Auras]
3. Equip Malachai's and cast your fixed-cost auras (Grace, Anger, Wrath).

4. Replace Malachai's with your normal helmet. Your stats should be back to normal.

4a. (Insufficient stats) Replace your temporary stat item with your normal item if applicable.

5. Cast your other auras

6. Profit. Half-cost BM auras.
