Anyone know a build that doesn't spam ONE skill 99% of the time?

Title basically sums it up. Nearly all viable builds seem to have 1 spammable skill, maybe a curse and a few auras. Does anyone actually enjoy this? In such a complex game, it seems downright sad that the gameplay itself is so mind-numbingly simple. Hold down right click... maybe move around a bit... pick up loot. Repeat.
GGG, I love your game, but please find a way to encourage the use of some kind of rotation of multiple skills. Sorry, elemental equilibrium is not enough.

You do know what min/maxing is right?
Uh...it's the drive of most builds to find one skill to spam. Invalesco likes rotating skills for different purposes so check out his stuff. Me personally I'm looking to make builds that don't require anything beyond right click.

There are options but you'd have to make the build up yourself. If you want a labor intensive build make something with immortal call, dual curse and EE. It's quite a few active skills and has potential for facetanking EHP along with high DPS.
Finished 17th in Rampage - Peaked at 11th
Finished 18th in Torment/Bloodline 1mo Race - peaked at 9th

You can always go a "rotation" spec, but not sure what that has to do with ARPGs. It kinda is a 1 click = win game.

Diablo 2 = 2 bars. Diablo 3 = 6 bars but with skills you usally just spam like in PoE / D2. Path of exile? 7 bars. So It's really up to you if you want to build something that requires 7 buttons.

Try something yourself and stop look at guides is my tip if you dont want 1 click = win.
This is not WoW, Tera, NW, GW, or any other game in that genre.

Path has 8

Anyway, like that other guy was saying, Invalescos builds do that a lot. For example his CI Crit Dagger Shadow, uses Flicker, Whirling Blades, Double Strike and Lightning Strike, and they all serve a purpose.

Just gotta think outside the box if you wanna make one yourself.

Hrm not sure which builds you're looking at.

A good build should have a good single target, a good AoE, for sure at least one curse but preferably a defensive and an offensive one, a utility movement skill, and a totem (and there are so many interesting totem options). And then auras/buff skills on top.

That's 6 active skills before buffs. It's not rocket science, but it's not as dumb as you try to make it sound.

Also flasks give you more things to press, and almost act as skills on their own. At the very least any decent setup will have two more 'active skills' in granite and quicksilver.

You're playing the wrong game. Spamming a single skill is the playstyle of Diablo type games, and GGG chose to perpetuate that.

That's not exactly revolutionizing a genre is it?
I'm fine with a game bringing back some nostalgia, but some stuff is just too prehistoric for 2013.
Another thing that really bothers me is the limited inventory/stash space. Not the space itself but the fact that a 2hander takes up 8 slots is pretty much wtfworthy. That's one of the things d3 did right imo, I'm playing path of exile, not tetris where I have to align blocks.
But yeah I guess they need to make $$$$ on stash space in the cash shop ;)

I said it before and I'll say it again: A game can have all the depth in the world, but if it isn't much fun, who's gonna play it? The game is fun for the most part, but there are a ton of annoyances in the game that's being kept in for the sake of nostalgia while they really are bad mechanics that people didn't even like back in the days.
Just my 0.02$
If there's one thing that GGG did not prioritize with PoE, it was revolutionizing anything.

Even with my FPer I feel it's not just one skill spamming. I use dual curse and a totem fr safety, so with FP, that's 4 keys I'm rotating through all the time.

And TPs of course!:)
