PoE 1 or 2?

Hey all,

I've played a bit of both games (only a little because the game overheats my dumb PC, thinking of upgrading (nvidia rtx 4060, intel i7, 8gb of ram (yeah you can see the problem))).

Which do you recommend I should play more of? I enjoy the 2nd one more so for the action, while the PoE 1 seems more casual to me, you know?

Whatever is more fun for you, I myself enjoy PoE1 more than PoE2. But at the moment I play neither of them, cause I need some other motivation in games than just improving my character just for the character to be stronger.

So I play other games till the next PoE1 League starts and with it challanges I can work towards.

Not having such challanges/achivements etc. as a goal is one of the main reasons why I lose motivation to play very fast in the PoE2 Endgame right now, just like it happend in Last Epoch or like it happens in PoE1 after I'm done with the challanges. (mostly till I got the rewards)

I agree that you ought to play what entertains you. However, I would also suggest that you play some PoE 1 in order to have a basis for comparison. The current league is one of the best, lots of fun, and quite profitable. =^[.]^=

I would suggest playing PoE 1 until you get a better PC, then play PoE 2.

PoE 1 is better and it's not even close.

PoE2 has no replay value, it is a game made for campaign

Path of Exile 1

Game is refined for more than 10 years with most of the years were with dedication, love, and passion

But, keep an eye on PoE2 as well, i'm sure that game will be the best as well in some years

Depends on what you value and look for in a game. Both have strengths and weaknesses.

PoE1 is a game with 10+ years of added content. It can give you thousands of hours if you want to experience most things. Some people say it's "easy" compared to PoE2, which I don't think is true at all. A lot of people have been playing PoE1 for YEARS without beating the hardest bosses, which just doesn't happen in an easy game. PoE1 is also unique and really stands out from the crowd. PoE1 lets you push power, speed and juicing arguably "too far", which a lot of people seem to think is a negative, even though it isn't mandatory to do so.

PoE2 is in my eyes a polished, stripped down version of PoE1, and not necessarily in just bad ways. It introduces way more limits and "roofs" to constrain players from reaching the crazyness that is possible in PoE1. That makes the game more "controllable" and easier to balance, but takes away a lot of freedom in the process. Because of this, PoE2's difficulty comes from the combat itself, where it's way harder to be "in front of" the progression. PoE1's difficulty is more tuned towards building a character and learning the complexity.

TL:DR
PoE2 is a carefully thought-out adventure where you're playing Jonathan's vision. PoE1 is an 'open' sandbox/themepark where you can do whatever you want, as long as you're not afraid to learn new stuff.
