Chaos Acolyte [Poison Arrow, Viper Strike, Shock] [IR/EB/MoM/AA] Potential 1.2.0 Tree in Latest Post
Not even just Concentrated Effect, but there's the Trap support as well. The two together, both at level 21, would provide 138% more damage.
I imagine I'd be using something along the lines of Poison Arrow + Trap + Concentrated Effect + Increased Duration + Empower + Blood Magic when damage multipliers start applying to degeneration. same name in-game

I'll updating this build substantially once 1.0.0 comes. I included a bit of information regarding how I'd augment Poison Arrow here.
" This version isn't going to do very well as a Shadow. Though there are other possibilities, such as a low life version with the combination of a Redbeak and a +3 to Gem Levels melee weapon for Viper Strike seeing as how degeneration will be affected by generic damage modifiers once 1.0.0 comes. Quill Rain wouldn't be very good because it doesn't provide the +3 to Gem Levels necessary for Poison Arrow and Empower. same name in-game

I just wanted to mention that I am going to respec to this build again, and I'm pretty excited about trying to use it with shocking. I think I originally created it? It was just heavily improved on. Although that video of me was before I really optimized it.
Got myself a pair of thunderfists today and am messing around with it. My maurader is 85 and I'm not bothering to spend a ton of points respeccing since the tree is changing with a free respec next week. Shocking doesn't seem as hard as I had thought it would be, although still probably impossible in a full high level group I would imagine. |

" If I remember correctly we were both working on our builds at the same time, and then both posted in the Poison Arrow feedback thread. So yeah, technically we both came upon the idea, and this is a combination of both of them. =p As for shocking, I'd say it's possible even in groups. You'd just need a high level skill gem. I recommend Shock Nova because its high damage potential, and because its gem quality bonus is amazing. As soon as you get the hang of its targeting and deadzone, it's pretty good. Anyways, good luck with your character man! Edit: By the way, would you mind making a new video after you respec? I'd love to be able to show how powerful it'll be once 1.0.0 is released, I just can't record anything while playing. =/ same name in-game Last edited by iao#2860 on Oct 15, 2013, 7:49:37 PM

Do you know any details about the changes? It wasn't clear to me, are they putting in passive nodes, are certain things in gear effecting it or what? To me it sounds like bad news if you can't invest heavily in regeneration and defenses and life like before since you now have to invest in damage or it is even worse than before.
I dunno it just seemed so unclear that I have no clue how to plan for it. |

" Can't you get a plus 3 shield? I have a plus 2 shield right now i use with viper. Or use dual redbeaks and put your viper in a 5 link chest. |
|
" Shields can't get the +# to Gem levels modifier, only the +# to Melee Gems modifiers. With the current level progression, Viper Strike gains ~117% more damage from level 20 to 26. So even just considering that, it'd be best to use a +1 to Gems +2 to Melee Gems claw/dagger/one-handed sword in one hand and Redbeak in the other as a low life character. same name in-game
