What are your thoughts on this league?
I think the bosses are pretty good. I haven't encountered the mapping guy yet but the other two are designed well I think. I think the challenge is a good level that fits in between map bosses and endgame bosses, a bit like Catarina. They give a good level of rewards for the relatively easy difficulty, unlike endless hunger/ blackstar which often drop nothing and need a more consistent loot table in my opinion.
Do agree that it leaves a bit of a gap with depth of the league not providing a bigger challenge somewhere. I think that is not necessarily their goal this league, since they've added other things recently such as t17's. There could be something a bit more engaging to do once you have everything up and going. I was hoping it might be the combinator, but i'm not sure that is enough to interact with. I think this is why the majority of post I've read are people happy with the league, but not continuing to play it, because just having sources of income is not that engaging on it's own. |

bosses are way too easy, but the pirate is fun at least
kingsmarch interactions don't feel like I'm playing path of exile, I honestly despise all league mechanics that don't involve killing monsters no depth of any kind enchants are not balanced properly. I'm using a sceptre and the best enchant for sceptres is 10% cast speed. I think they forgot to add enchants for some weapon types QoL changes are amazing melee changes are amazing balance changes are pretty good league mechanic is 2/10 the league itself, excluding the league mechanic is 8/10 Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Aug 29, 2024, 1:38:52 PM

League mechanic is meh. What relatively small amount of cuurency I have had for upgrades is from older leaugue mechanics such as blight amd Strongboxes. The way I was able to convert those few valuable bits here and there is via the currency exchange, which is one of the single redeeming features of this league. If it does not go core I will Very likely be playing other games till poe2 releases.

League itself feels amazing as a whole.
Currency exchange is smooth, there are so many options to farm in a fun way maybe not all of them equally profitable, but as previously stated "divs/hour is the problem you create in your head". Some issues need addressing like the new bosses lacking a bit of a kick to make them into meaningful fights, as other than fearing clicking the portal while entering and losing whole crew in Bandit Lord/Admiral fights, they present no real danger for an established character. Another small issue is league mechanic itself, or rather the amount of clicking it takes to sort through the acquired loot, button to send currency directly into stash would be god-send, but in general I really REALLY love the idea of mappers getting rid of your excess maps - it's something I wished for a long time - while shipping and farming are nice "side gears" to keep the gold mechanic spinning smoothly as it can't be JUST for the market. I honestly never felt more freedom while playing PoE, there was a bit of "fomo" with gold, but you just need to shut this voice down, balance the city to fit your playstyle and it's easily one of, if not the best leagues in terms of enjoying the game as a whole. The gears are grinding well. |

Managed to spawn Sasan, and yeah it is too easy. Just died basically instantly. In my last post I said I thought the other two bosses were a good difficulty for in-between bosses, but this one doesn't make a lot of sense. You can spawn the pirate boss much earlier, because shipping is set up earlier than mapping and is cheaper to run. It also seems like it needs high level maps to spawn, so by the time it is encountered player will be able to trivialize the fight. I don't know if it was a well designed fight or not, because it didn't go long enough and was lagging being the first time I'd entered the arena. With how hard it was to get to spawn, doesn't seem to fit well in the progression. I did like the other two fights, so if this had of spawned a few weeks ago when I was under geared, maybe it would of been a good fight as well. If I get it to spawn again I'll turn off some auras or something to do the fight.

I really liked Settlers of Kalguur league. 9/10 for me. But I only played it so long because I had another long term goal - 7/7 uber pinnacles.
Now I have completed 7/7 uber pinnacles on a build I've been refining for leagues, I will be interested to see if the next league can keep me playing as long without further uber content. Without such content I'm sort of looking toward PoE2 and its plethora of Boss content. "The key to winning any fight is simply staying alive."
