What are your thoughts on this league?
As I start to lose more and more friends to other games, I was wondering to myself what caused it. We tend to stick to POE for a while, because it's one of our favorite games. But when the league mechanic is lacking, we lose interest much quicker. While the league is interesting and fun to an extent, there are some obvious flaws that will show in the next several weeks when people begin to lose interest.
Personally, I think there are some major issues that could be addressed. Obvious price fixing on highly sought after items. The insane prices on some of the more lucrative strategies. The lack of drops when it comes to currency and good divination cards. The random bugs with a lot of newly introduced currencies and scarabs. After trying out too many atlas strategies to count, I just don't feel the same excitement I felt in previous leagues. I feel bound to one or two atlases because of the prices on most of the scarabs. When I do invest heavily in maps, I always seem to come up short. I remember enjoying every map I stepped into in affliction, harvest, or other popular leagues. I think this league is missing a key aspect, but I can't seem to put my finger on it. What's your thoughts? Last bumped on Aug 31, 2024, 11:32:08 PM

The game is what you make it to be. Nobody put you on the div/hour hamster wheel - you did that to yourself. Play SSF is the obvious solution to that particular problem.
As for the league mechanic itself, it's just steady passive income with a potential to hit the jackpot. The difference is that it doesn't buff mapping outright, so if you want to make currency using the more expensive strategies, you need to be efficient in how you do it, not run a few maps without any drops and proceed to flip flop to something else. |
Well, I never said anything about divs per hour. Secondly, I never said anything about flip flopping after a couple maps.
This was an attempt at a discussion about possible reasons the league is lacking. Instead I get the typical "get good bruh" response. |

What I personally think this league might be missing is a true endgame encounter. Harvest had the Heart of the Grove. Sanctum had Lycia in the beyond. Affliction had the King in the Mist. Heist had a BUNCH of different bosses all tied to the lore of the respective contract giver.
While we do have 3 boss fights this league, they don't feel like they can quite fulfill the role of a big antagonist. They feel somewhat forced in a way. Flat. Why is the Black Knight in the starfall crater? Who knows. We never get told that. They come out of nowhere, 2 out of 3 have SEVERE repercussions if you fail the single attempt boss fight (or disconnect or the instance crashes) and the third one is just kinda... there for no reason. All 3 of them are connected to the base league mechanic only in very superficial ways. All the older boss encounters I mentioned were the direct result of our actions and deeply rooted in the lore and mechanics of their respective league. I make dumb builds, therefore I am.

" You asked for my thoughts and you got them, then proceeded to imply malice from my part, because what? I didn't agree with you? Claim: " Reality: " Claim: " Reality: " " |
Pretty good. Has a good level of polish. Might be missing some of the depth of other leagues, but overall good.
No, not at all. The malice was there because that's what all your posts are. I looked at your history, saw that most of the time you have no constructive feedback, and you just jump on everyone for posting. So I treated you as such. You're just a sad angry little person.
But, I'm done engaging with you. Take care. |
" That's a solid point. The bosses do seem a bit lackluster. |
" Do you even comprehend what constructive feedback even is? I gave you solid advice how to play the game and not be a slave to the currency market and map yield - go SSF. You might actually enjoy playing the game, not worrying about problems you created in your own head. But hey, anybody who disagrees with your point of view is automatically a bully, right? |
" I felt the same last week. But now that some of the problems are becoming more apparent, I was curious on why I felt differently. Still, glad you're enjoying the league. |
