How to make combat smoother

If this game was made smoother i realy dont think i would make ANY progress in life and on top of that gain 50kg in the first year of playing it so PLEASE dont improve the game in that aspect
The clunkiness of combat sucks. I hate attacking air when things move a pixel or two away. It would help if we could rotate the camera a few degrees to get more of a 'side' view than a 'top' view.
oh my, this thread expresses perfectly how i feel about this game.

everything else feels so well tuned, even at this early stage. i am very excited about the release of this game and will be supporting the devs with buying closed beta access.

i hope improving such a fundamental aspect of the game is looked at closely!

These two things summarize how I feel about my two biggest gripes in this game. I actually really like this game, enough that I purchased a beta pack and convinced a friend to as well.

That being said, I feel like the attack animations do need to be more.... dramatic?... for lack of a better word. My Shadow character has a dual hand double-swipe attack but when I do it he just stands in place swinging his arms. There are already so many cool effects in the game but I'd love to see these attacks really beefed up.

Combine that with the fact that simply selecting enemies to attack is painfully difficult and overall I feel like combat is the one area where this game really lacks. The passive tree, the lack of gold currency, and many other things are really cool about this game. Unfortunately, just fighting enemies can often really try my patience.
So Iv been playing the Ranger a fair bit and it feels quite nice. Still a bit sticky but after a while it settles in. Perhaps I just got used to it. I will need to check the other chars again and see how it feels in comparison, I will then report my findings right here, IN THIS EXACT THREAD!!!! *!Dun Dun DUUUUN!*

Devs plz play a bit D3 and feel their gameplay and u will see what we all mean.

the hole system of PoE is absolutley AWSOME, just the gameplay has to become more smooth and fast

I know for a fact that Chris Wilson played Diablo 3 up to early Inferno, so...it's not a case of simply getting GGG to play D3 and copying/emulating that game's fluidity.

It's an ongoing process and certainly one repeatedly acknowledged by the devs.

The only concern for me and my friend who also is in beta, is that the movement animation / delay, makes the game feel sluggish.

We both would like an instantaneous turn of the character when you move with the left mouse button, or at least a much quicker animation so the game feels more responsive.

Sure it might not be as realistic, but if I want realism I go and play Arma 2.
