High DPS 1-Hand Lightning Strike/Multistrike 3 Aura Tank Duelist Guide by Ler [1.1.0]
I'm curious as to which you think is better, life leech or life on hit? With only 6k dps and 6.29 aps I think life on hit might be better.

Time and again I have personally found Life Leech to be much more effective in keeping me alive. It has helped me safely get through boss 1 vs 1 situations. Also after new patch i dont think life gain on hit is being affected by damage effectiveness or LS 120% dmg effectiveness has been removed and now its a flat 100%
Also Ive managed to find acquire a 6L , made some changes to my gear and now i am running with 15k armor ( unbuff) hatred instead of haste ( i find hatred vs haste hatred gives me more dmg) and Added fire instead of faster attacks ( again i find add fire to be giving more dmg) 8.6k dmg with anger wrath grace vitality hatred purity 4k life Blood rage physical Life leech is very nice added with life leech gem is helping me survive most tough situations. Gunning for an alpha howl to run 4 auras ( include haste)

" Some Analysis here Ler . the situation 1. The way i see it is you run with a fairly decent ping ( mine is at 280 in best conditions) 2. Fairly Decent Rig ( mine is a core 2 duo laptop) 3. Little to No Desync or Random Desync With the situation Comes the difference in play style. You are able to effectively manage your blood consumption /life regen because you are able to effectively position your self and kill targets due to 1. Your good Play style 2. Your situation. For me I am ridden with Desync and Position Lag And I am not sure what i see on screen hitting is actually being hit So i Spam the Skill button hopping that things do get hit/killed. actual Theory Crafting When Your are Skill Spamming ( You do not need to skill spam but some of us do due to desync) There is this to consider Say you regen for 300 Life per second. and your skill costs 140 life and has an attack time of 0.15 seconds with multistrike for 1 cast of your skill it repeats 2 times more so its 0.15+0.15+0.15 0.45 seconds per 1 cast at 170 life spamming that in 1 second results in 3 casts so that is 170x3 =420 life spent in 1 second when you regen for 300. It stands to reason if you are not hitting any thing you will lose a steady 120 life per second if you spam it. You might thing why would any one do that? Its because of desync/position lag. you might think you are actually hitting targets but you arent because they are else where or they are already dead. So in that case you must either 1 Limits Your hits to just 2 casts per second while hitting nothing in the wrong direction and hoping something doesnt kill you. 2. Or SPAM the skill where the skill itself will take care of targets around you . When you Do the 2 option like me its imperative that you either 1. manage your skill consumption such that it factors in regen to compensate for skill spam. meaning if the skill costs 100 life and i regen for 300 i can keep spam it safely without dying. This would result in safe mode but reduce damage significantly. Or What i am doing is Relying On Life Leech and doing significant damage that when i do hit something on skill spam I manage to steal enough life for the consecutive 3rd cast of the skill and enough life to compensate for damage . Which is why i love the q 20 blood rage because of its life steel ability i am able to survive most things where previously i was a hopeless victim of forces that i could not control ( desync ) I understand Why Projectile weakness is most important because when you are piercing you are effectively hitting a lot of targets which is good in any case (LL or LGOH). The root cause of my survivability issues the and the game play that alows me to survive is supported only by Life Leech and the corresponding skill spam. TLDR my suggestion is for people ridden with desync to go for life leech instead of life gain on hit. If i was in your situation i would be doing what you are doing and it is indeed most effective. but being in mine that is the only thing that is working for me. Ya Dig? Also My Final Stats after the 6L upgrade

Now Regarding the Mechanics on 1 on 1 vs boss. 1. You can either face tank it and kill 2. you can get your shots in and show your amazing skills of Survivability godlike game play and your awesome fps and low ping values and lack of desync. 1. I chose to face tank and kill because i have no other option If i try to evade it or get far from the boss ,I wont know from where it would hit me and if i would be able to pot / run in time by the time i recover from desync when that happens. example piety ice shot always lags the fk out of me when ever piety casts the skill. Now to the actual mechanics of Face tanking it. If you use Life Gain on Hit. Say your skill costs 100 mana and you regen for 300 life for every cast of your skill you recover your skill cast costs due to 3 hits. or even say if your skill costs 50 mana and you regen for 300 life you recover an excess of 150 life per cast if you do hit the boss. Now the boss does damage in tune of 500~1k life per second. IS that enough for you to survive it? Is your awesome dps even if its at 0.1 attacks per second that is still 450 life per second recoverd for the lowest damage done. Suppose it gets in 1 or 2 crits or some powerful punches? You die instantly. If you use Life Leech On Blood Rage and you do say 10k dps per cast you are effectively recovering 850 life per hit - This ofcourse is not instant recovery but the rate at which you are doing that 10k dps per cast i.e 3 times per second will allow you to recover for more than what the boss does in damage to you. Note in this calculation it certainly wont be 850x3 ( no vaal pact) but significantly higher than 450 life per second even with the rate at which it is applied. This is the only explanation i could come up with because when i use LGOH vs kole /piety i die like a rat. but when i use life leech I recover life much faster than they do damage to me. Just wondering, is there a reason you dont take the third hp point near the middle?(10% hp)

Great build. Lvl 81 and loving it. Getting chaos res on really good gear is proving annoying though :(
