How's the progress now, aeolicious?

Has the build filled out a bit in Red Maps? Do you feel more comfortable?

It depends on how the map rolls. I know what to strictly avoid (No leech etc.) but otherwise sometimes the mitigation and leech work great and sometimes it's just too spiky and I die. I think this will get better as I get more life and completely cap my resists. Going to try adding an Evangelist too since I have 3 Spectres and I don't need the redundant Host Chieftain.
Having good fun with the build so far. (This is my first character) I was wondering what gear upgrades you can recommend long term?

Many thanks!

great insights there! i am still unsure how you even do any league mechanic that has a timer component with regular zombies though.
as you can see, i got lucky and got my hands on a geofri's, so i was able to try out a potentially very fast clearing alternative minion build that is still very tanky and even then i started to struggle with some enemy groups that just mow through me and my minions.
i couldn't imagine putting a dent into those enemy groups with phantoms and zombies (slamming ones would disintegrate even faster as you said).

might just be that with the recent changes the ssf functionality of the build really took a hit and it needs the investability of trading or someone with skills in crafting

edit: just saw you mentioning that you block any timed content as much as possible, that explains how it is not an issue :D

I've gotten to my highest level thus far with this build and I'm enjoying it...but...the lack of a movement skill is making the traps and devices in the labyrinths challenging for me. Annoying, even.
I'm a newbie - so have mercy :) - loosely following the RF build, and I really like it's spirit and general performance so far (lvl 66, still in the campaign), but have a question - is the Autoexortion still viable here, especially with Enduring Cry? As gems descriptions' suggest it won't do anything.

If I'm right, what's the best way of replacing it without losing too much of the leisure one-button gameplay? I'm personally considering just leaving Enduring Cry on manual for bosses, though I'm quite at a loss what could I add to the mix.

Do you have any more suggestions/obvious flaws with my chieftain? E.g. is there anything I could put in the free slot of my Automation setup? Playing softcore SSF character, with no min-maxing attitude. Thanks in advance.

i basically just walked through them all, the build is so tanky there should be no issue with that

Hey, Boo!

I'm glad you're having a good time with the build! Minion builds are quite simple to upgrade for endgame. It doesn't mean the gear comes easy, but the mods are easy to look for.

DAMAGE mods, in order of offensive power:
- 1) Chance for minions to poison. (We have 40% already. So only bother getting another 60% total.)
- 2) 100% Increased Minion Damage.
- 3) +1 to Spell or Minion Gems (but increases minion life).
For defence:
- Lots of life
- Capped resists (chaos included)
- Good armour rolls (then quality that armour to 20%)
- Any incoming damage conversion mods (like Chaos damage applying to Armour)
- find a shield with 20% crit reduction taken

I hope that helps! Thanks again for the kind words.

:) Nope. Nothing's broken, Lip.

None of the gear is specific. It's very general. Find the best items you can and play. Flasks are based on personal preference and individual playstyle. So use what works best for you.
