Why do chests have to take so long to open o.o

On my ranger opening chests with the left click is snappy, responsive and fun. Some containers are much slower to open when the kick animation is used, and those are annoying, not snappy, and not responsive.


While I do agree that the "real life" argument is a weak one, you must realize that real life will always have some impact on a game. In this case the animation may exist for a reason and I do not know what affects the speed with which you stomp it open. I have never noticed a difference between my characters opening a barrel. Also, regardless of how fast they make the animation it will always be faster to open a group of barrels with an attack.

With my earlier "real life" post I just wanted to point out that there was logic behind it taking longer, even if it wasn't necessary. I also think that the animations are a good idea anyways because it stops people from opening them on the run without some sort of negative consequence. While still allowing them to be destroyed while in combat.

I hope this explains my opinion better. :)
