Why do chests have to take so long to open o.o
I'm just curious as the title may have explained, as to why the developers of the game made the animation for opening a barrel or crate slightly longer than opening a chest. This might just be me ranting and being an impatient bastard, but i wouldn't mind hearing a few other opinions on this strange topic. Also i guess you could complain about other animations you find to just bug you a bit.

How fast would it take you to open a chest filled with mysterious wonders (in real life)... I'm assuming a while. |

In real life it would take longer to open a barrel or crate. Chests are made to open and close quite quickly assuming they have no lock on them, which the chests in PoE do not seem to have.
They said I was mad! They said it couldn't be done! But now who's mad?!?!

It seems that the probability of barrels and crates spawning in groups of more then 2 units are higher then the probability of chests doing the same thing. And since barrels and crates are easy to destroy in groups with AOE damage skills, the extra time it takes to open or destroy them separately compared to the opening of chests, only applies to those who choose to not use a AOE damage skill to open barrels and crates spawned in groups =). I see them as equal this way, chests and (barrels, crates).

You can destroy barrels and such with any kind of AoE attack. Perhaps even normal attacks, but I haven't tried. I typically move close to the barrel(s) and cleave. Insta-opened!

It's easy to bend over and pick stuff out of a chest. But scraping the bottom of a barrel for that last piece of gold or that shiny dagger on the other hand..
A good game isn't about the graphics or how big it is. A good game is one that you play for hours yet seems like minutes.

For crates and barrels its much easier to force them open with a skill. Especially anything that uses AOE can open numerous pots, barrels, and crates with a single click :) The kick animation is way slow, better to burn some mana on it.

" Your explanation "In real life it would take longer to open a barrel or crate" is ridiculous as this is not real life but a videogame, and in videogames many concessions are made in the interest of gameplay and entertainment. On my ranger opening chests with the left click is snappy, responsive and fun.
